The problem is the way they can score fights, "Damage" is purely subjective and makes it hard to judge live

How is damage subjective? Merab was cut and bleeding. Sean was not. It’s a fight

I agree and have been saying the ruleset needs to be changed or at least the judges need to be made aware of what it is. Aunt no way laying on someone wins a fight. If you do dmg, get a tko or attemp subs i get it but just laying there is stupid af.

I feel like he would have made a breakdown like this if it was strickland vs DDP which could have gone either way. But O’Malley vs Dvalishvili wasn’t even like that, there was a clear winner no controversy at all. But now that Sean O’malley is trying to changed the narrative that he won 1,3,5 it just sad that he cant accept defeat.

O’Malley is making vids and clips saying that adamantly, but it’s just for the vids. In his pod, he says that he definitely lost, Merab was the better fighter that night, that he could see how he could have won but it was more of an in the moment desperate defense and get out of grappling exchanges.

I watched his video completely. All I saw were his own opinion. while watching the fight, my initial score was 4-1. After watching the fight again, it's really hard to give sean the 3rd round. Regardless, there is absolutely no way on Earth sean won that fight 😂. And merab really dominated that fight to the extent that I thought sean was carrying an injury or had a bad weight cut.

The problem is that there are no hard set rules about control VS damage. Sometimes it matters, sometimes it doesn't. In my opinion I don't think you should be able to win a fight on anything but damage because that's what a fight is. But if we aren't scoring at as a fight and we're taking control time and wrestling skill into account it needs to be made clear how much it counts in comparison. To me it just seems like the UFC keeping it purposefully vague so they have more leeway with close decisions. I don't think submission attempts should even matter. If you see two guys fighting and one of them is holding the other down, attempting submissions but doesn't get any or do anything damaging while in that position, if the other guy then got up and proceeded to break his nose before getting held on the ground I think anyone watching would consider the guy actually doing damage the winner of the fight. The other guy essentially is just defending himself. Don't see you can score defense over offense in a fight but that's just me. I also think boxing rules are stupid. Winning a fight on jabs after actually getting knocked on your ass is hilarious 😂

In other words, finish your opponent so there's no confusion or controversy.... If O'Malley would've been knocked out, MMA Guro would've been out here saying O'Malley's face knocked out Merab's fist.....
