These comments are annoying me so ima just say it, dios rework was made because characters like dio sjw and katakuri had the same type of combo extenders which were plain and boring so people asked for variety, and you CAN combo extend with dios siphon into space ripper your just holding it and doing it completely wrong (no hate just clarifying everything)

dios moveset was busted that why it was changed there was an inf combo for it where you just cycled through 1,2, and 3 with a downslam in between all of them it wasnt really skill and it was super annoying unlike every other character all of dios moves were a combo extender (+ a combo starter counter and a long range unblockable projectile)

Honestly the new DIO moveset doesn't really fix what reworks are actually supposed to do: make the character feel different to play. Your game plan is still entirely the same with the new DIO moves and the only big change is that zoning out with Space Ripper has become MORE powerful now that it fully charged deals about 20 or so damage. Infact i'd say the new moveset is even LESS interesting to play as it removed one of my favorite neutral interactions with DIO: Knife Throw which, if used smartly could be used to cancel enemy moves at basically no cost. It just feels more dumbed down as his 4 is just a reskinned Sukuna move and his 3 just serves the same purpose as Stand Beatdown (i forgot what the move was called) without combo extending. Edit: And also leaving the ult completely untouched is, really stupid. DIO already has one of the worst awakenings in the game which entirely relies on TimeStop for a one-shot combo, otherwise you have barely any mobility, range or i-frames to deal with people which is just frustrating when Katakuri, Shadow Monarch and Madara have ults that can reliably kill without relying on their ultimate move.

It's more of a redesign than a rework. The only thing that was truly changed was the removal of knife throw(nobodys using that anyway). Judgment functions the exact same as Stand Beatdown, Space Ripper is Stingy Eyes that can be charged, Vampiric Siphon is the Knife Throw variant with a little bit of range, and obviously Stand Rush, the R special, and ult are the exact same.

DIOS REWORK IS BETTER here's why: VAMPIRIC SIPHON you can space ripper to combo extend off of it, you can also forward dash loop combo extend off of it right after the vampiric siphon (no space ripper). You can also still time it to get people on their get up, but they can block it so you have to come at a more interesting angle. It's basically the same as old knife throw but with a lot more interesting tech (like 4th punch + side dash + vampiric, uppercut + vampiric works too... the mind games of getting vampiric siphon on get up is a lot more interesting for both parties as the enemy CAN block it but you can also mix up side dash behind them to still get the vampiric.) Definitely an upgrade JUDGEMENT still combos amazing like his old stand beatdown. You can down slam into judgement into downslam. It's cooldown is really low some long combos can even fit two judgements in it if you start the combo with judgement. I see it as an upgrade from stand beatdown, its still really similar in application (a little harder to combo off if you cant time your down slams the best.) SPACE RIPPER is pretty much the same besides the extension off of vampiric, but the forward dash loop extend is better imo just a little more risky and inconsistent. The charge up makes it a better combo finisher too, a small upgrade but still an upgrade. STAND RUSH is still great for combos its the exact same. BEST COMBO I KNOW: m1 + uppercut + vampiric siphon + forward dash loop extend + side dash into m1 + downslam + judgement + side dash + downslam + stand rush + down slam + vampiric siphon on get up + forward dash loop extend + side dash + m1 + down slam + charged space ripper. THIS COMBO KILLS FROM FULL HP EVEN WITHOUT THE SECOND FORWARD DASH LOOP EXTEND. YOU CAN SUBSTITUTE THE SECOND LOOP EXTEND BY JUST DOWNSLAMMING + SPACE RIPPER AFTER THE SECOND VAMPIRIC SIPHON. If you start with down slam + judgement (instead of uppercut + vampiric) I think you can get a second judgement at the end of the combo instead of a second vampiric. Might be better but idk they're still changing some of the cooldowns so this might not be true later. IMO the new abilities while being a lot similar to their previous incarnations are just a lot more interactive from both the user and the enemy being hit by them and are still just as strong.

I think that a finisher for vampiric syphon is that you throw a knife in the air and when you slam them the knife hit them or something like that.

The new duo is much better than the old one in many ways. 2 allows for more movement options and you can fully charge 2 after downslaming. The new dios best combo leaves players in red health and the old dios best combo left players in orange. Even though all of the new moves ragdoll the very high damage makes up for it. Overall the new dio Is the better than the old. (The cooler looking moves are also a plus)

Honestly I much prefer combat that isn't just a game of waiting out combo extender cooldowns, cooldowns are a thing to increase variety, and combat feels better if interactions arent worth as much, are faster, and look different (no one likes a 20 second combo that never changes at all, its objectively less fun to sit in a braindead combo than actually playing the game). Additionally, I don't think the value of a new moveset should be based on its comparative strength, if new has to be better then its just power creep.

Recommendation: vampire siphon can catch people mid air so do a mini uppercut (it’s 3 m1 and the u hold the jump in the final m1). U can also grab downed people with judgement so downslam. Otherwise u cooked a 4 star meal buddy
