Yeh, I feel she jumps the gun a bit tho. Cutting in where people on screen in the spotlight would generally have the focus. If the new style is where Sam is the focus and initiator of conversation like an interviewer, then this style commentary is fine. However, if they want the persons onscreen to be the focus and driver of the content for that shot, as it has been historically for Juji's content, then it seems a bit off atm. Growing pains perhaps as they soul search for how they want their format to be moving forward.

@@RahhB74 Interestingly, gym is of Greek origin, and the Greek's don't really have a "j" sound. They make it by forming a sort of diagraph of t & z. A diagraph is like the ph in diagraph, it's pronounced like an f, thus making two letters sound like one letter. To translate "gym," first we go to it's previous incarnations. Gym is short for gymnasium, which is the English translation of the Greek word, gumnasion, which means gym. This is derived from gumnazein, meaning to exercise naked, which itself is derived from the word gumnos, which means to be naked. It bears mentioning these words in Greek have a sound akin to "yim" (ex: search for "pronunciation of γυμνός"). So, setting aside the fact that if there was truth in labeling, we should all be naked in the gym; the word itself has it's origins in a language that doesn't even have the sound, it was added later due to Latin and French influence. The reason this Latin and French influence is important, is because English is grammatically and diacritically a Germanic language. In German, g sounds are typically verbal plosive, like "girl." In French, g sounds are typically what's called a voiced palatal glide, like the g in "gerbil," or "germ." This is the exact difference between the sounds in GIF vs JIF. Since English is a Germanic language, a word created in English would need to use those rules. Interesting, Gus is short for Gustave which is German itself, hence why it's Gus and not Jus. Whether the creator of the file format says so or not, it's pronounced GIF with a "hard g" because he is a native English speaker, and had he been aware of these things above, and wanted the word to be pronounced JIF, that's how he would have spelled it. The word has no etymology, beyond it existing as an acronym for Graphics Interchange Format. Since it started as an acronym, it exists in the language that acronym references, and therefore exists under those linguistic rules. Gym, on the other hand, is a word we have take from French and Latin after it traveled a long way from a language that doesn't even have a j sound to begin with. As a general rule, you'll find that words that start with a soft g, meaning a j sound in English, are typically of French or Latin origin, as opposed to being distinctly English/Germanic origin words. Gonna say it, and maybe people will agree with me or maybe they won't. It's time to stop bringing Tom up. It just re-opens a chapter that is already closed. I didn't hate Tom. From time to time it seemed like he was even the one helping Juji get motivated and amping him up. Especially in the beginning Tom always came off as super supportive of Juji. Now, that may have been some of the editing he did, or it could just have been how the relationship was. In the start it seemed like they were really good for each other. As far as I see it, Tom was good for Juji in the beginning, and he really pushed Juji to branch out and show more people how awesome he is. Towards the end, yes, Tom seemed more like a burden, and now we know why the mood of the videos seemed a little off. But as fans of Juji's we owe it to him to stop bringing it up, even if it is in some sort of complimentary way. I'm sure it isn't easy for Juji, because it seemed like they were really good friends. Deep down, you know Juji is worried about Tom as a friend because that is the type of person he is. And even after everything Tom did, I am sure Juji doesn't want to constantly see comments on his videos pertaining to Tom. Tom hasn't been in a video on this channel in 4 months now. Let's drop the subject already and let Juji and Sam get on with their lives. Just speaking as a long time fan, who was here watching Juji even before Tom started working with him.

I'm sure I am not alone in saying that watching his drive and passion can get me up for a day in the gym when I am really not feeling it. We as fans should reflect that positive energy back on him as much as we can to show him how inspiring he is. I have no goals of being an elite powerlifter, or to get my IFBB pro card, but Juji gives me the inspiration to be as strong and shredded as I can be as a nerdy natty with a pension for staying buff and pleasing to the eye. 😂
