Not exactly. OnePlus don't have IP Rating's which is an expensive cert to gain and of course naturally higher's the price of any product. Along with this there's more sophisticated screens, better sound quality and although only slight, improved cameras, found on the likes of the iPhone X or S9. If OnePlus didn't cut corners on these areas their flagships would certainly be at least a couple hundred more. Although yes probably still cheaper. All that said I have ordered a OneTouch 6 and am very much looking forward to it :)

My last phone was an Alcatel Idol 4 and it done the jobe perfectly. I only used it for Facebook Messenger , whatsapp , Normal texting and phone calls. It was only €200 and it never lagged and the battery lasted between 5 - 10 days. Also I don't see why some people have a hardon for 2K+ on the display of a phone. Its a phone , not a computer monitor or TV.

About the durability of the phone, I don't think it would totally shatter just like you've said. In Linus' video about OnePlus 6 Quality Control, it showed that from a 1.8 meters (at most) drop the phone would only be expected to have 10% cracks while the rest of the phone's functionality would still work.

I'm using the iPhone 7 ATM and I must say I'm very impressed. It has all the of the same features as the 8 (bar wireless charging) and runs very smoothly with great image quality and very, very impressive video and that phone is now 549 dollars. SO maybe if android is not your cup of tea and you are in the market "budget" alternative, you should consider​ that. I would definitely recommend having a look.

great review austin. oneplus6 really standard flagship phone from oneplus and its worth buying in 2018, but that 4k recording in OP6 tho! was auto high contrast when you switch shooting camera to op6 cam austin your face and other background red got more punchy colors.that was weird. but overall i like this phone design,camera,display,software everything is good in this phone at its price and yeah! notch too👍🏼.

Why do people keep saying OnePlus has a track record for keeping their phones updated? That is not at all true. Look at the OnePlus Two for example. They promised 2 years of updates. They promised android 6 a bit after it released and then delivered a full year later when android 7 had already come out. They then immediately promised to update it to 7 (one year into their "promise") and then they went silent. They could not be contacted in any way and even ignored thousands of emails send though a petition. A year later when their "promise" time was over they suddenly just said, neh, we are nog gonna release android 7. A short while late (if not at the same time) they released OnePlus 3 which had android 7, and that phone had very similar hardware to the OnePlus 2 so they had no reason to not also release it to the OnePlus 2 besides to try and get people to upgrade. So OnePlus 2 was from that moment stuck with the buggy and dated OS (you cannot even choose a custom ringtone due to a bug).

IP cert is still not covered under warranty. If your IP certified phone is found to have water damage, It voids the warranty. Unless it can be proved that the water damage is caused due to the failure of waterproofing. (At least this is what it was a couple of years back... And I don't think manufacturers would've changed that in the fine print.)

5T has an Aluminium casing making it durable than 6 and also I am a full stack dev and not a photographer or an enthusiast, so camera is mostly useless on normal days and only used barely in trip because most of my peers got an iPhone X or S9 plus or pixel 2, so the camera is basically useless, for me anyway. 6 is over rated and 5T was under rated, IMHO.

Actually the second camera isn't a telephone lens as you mentioned in the video. It is the same camera as the main lens with the same aperture, and it isn't black and white either. It is marketed to help with low-light shots and reducing the noise. Maybe read the specs more carefully next time to avoid such inaccuracies :)

actually a phone's speed depends on the processor it has, while RAM comes in handy when you multitask or play HD games. its a trend in smartphone industry where they increase the RAM every year just because it looks good on paper. my point is 4 gb or 6 gb doesn't make any diff for daily use.

I think the reason they are using a glass back is because they are using a higher end LTE antenna which will help for better connection and speeds. I do see them using wireless charging in the future however, I think they wanted to keep the pricing down.

I think the phone looks great for the money but I've watched a number of reviews now and there seem to be slightly different takes on the camera, ranging from so-so to amazing, so I'm not too sure what to think. i bought a phone for 5000 RUPEES (around 80-90 usd) xiaomi redmi 5a ,sd 425 soc,miui 9.5.6,android 7.1.2,2gb ram 16gb storage with micro sd expansion,dual sim 4g support,13mp rear and 5mp front camera,13 mp is pretty decent to me,performance is pretty good for price,we can always root a xiaomi phone without voiding warranty,i used some roms like viper os and rremix os they worked pretty fine without any bugs i'm surprised that there are no bugs.' volte ' works on both roms and new mods for 8.0 are also comming soon on xda very satisfied with the phone.I'm surprised that to see Xiaomi making quality phones for prices as low as 80 bucks "HIIIIIGHLYYYY RECCCOMMMENNNDED" AVAILABLE ONLY IN INDIA.

I use the OP5 and the speakers are LOUD. Also, historically front facing speakers end up getting filled with gunk. My 6p needs to be cleaned once or twice a year.

I really don't know why people are saying this phone is overpriced, yes it's missing certain features but that keeps the price down. If you want specific things that this phone doesn't have go for the phone that has them. But be ready to pay 1000$ for the extra
