I sold mine since it couldn't connect to other Wifi networks unless I was on the same network as my PS5. Absolutely ridiculous. Looks like they solved that issue. May consider buying one again.

@@jakovrajic1160 I noticed that at home when I'm far away from my router the 5hz band works amazing with my signal booster. When I'm closer to my router the 2.4 works better. The 5 has 600-800 Mbps the 2.4 100 mgbs. When at work I connect to a public wifi that has speeds of 100 up and down My ps5 is connected through Ethernet to the router. Even when I used my 46 pixel6 as a hotspot it was fine, smooth, no latency at all. I made sure that I have at least 2-3 bars of signal strength on the portal Really works amazing

Dancity setup has the same setup as myself! The only thing I don't do is hardwire my PS5. I have a video in my channel named 'BEST WiFi Setup for Playstation Portal | Lag Free' that showing my complete setup

@TechMarkGaming Saw the Tampa sign in the vid and figured. But yeah. I'm stoked. Travel for work 40-50 times a year so glad to see hotel and/or airport wifi can hang. I'll stay tuned for more content. 😁

I was not able to use my portal in the airport or mid flight (with the WiFi upgrade) when I traveled a few weeks back. Didn't work well in my hotel, either, but you had to pay more for decent WiFi. It did, however, work beautifully for me when I was staying in a condo in keystone, Co a few weeks back. Its ability to work well is very dependent upon your WiFi speeds (obvious, I know...)

@@TechMarkGaming it's there bro, for some weird reason I'm noticing everyone has a damn different experience with this thing smh... For example I can't play my games on rest mode but my friend can smdh 🙆 but he doesn't get audio sometimes to his portal or tv meanwhile I never had that issue before. Also I have the oldest and lousiest Internet from spectrum Internet assist and I can still stream games good if I'm only close lol I pay $20😆 I'm not upgrading and it's the old modem and router from like 2017-2018😆😭

Since they added the feature I thought why not.... So I got one to use when I work nights on the weekends. Problem is, whether I use my phones hotspot or wifi here at work it will always say "somethings wrong" or wont connect to my ps5. Settings are right, i have ps5 settings to wake up from network, remote play on , etc also have it wired ethernet...... So to rule out a setting issue. i disconected from my home wifi on my phone and setup a mobile hotspot. connected to it with the portal and connected to my ps5 in seconds. Im just not sure what the issue is here, ive tried restarting portal, switching on/off airplane mode etc but it will not connect if im away from the house, at least not yet.

Short answer I would say no it doesn’t even work without lag on my work WiFi that’s not public. update:our WiFi at work is 207mbps upload and 35mbps download I don’t understand how I get like a full second of input lag

Sometimes the wifi in a hotel or restaurant dosent even show up do u know how to fix that also great video

For the hotel I'd call the front desk and ask them to speak with the it department and let them walk me through entering the wifi info in manually. For restaurants I don't have much info on that bc they might see you as a hacker or something so I'd rather not bother tbh. Hope this helps!

Hey Bro one very important question: Can I connect my ps5 to mobile phone data (because U don’t have WiFi/wlan) & also connect my ps portal to my mobile phone data and play it ? Can it also play online games when my connection is very good and I have unlimited data.

It's possible but with that much data being used on your phone at once it might be laggy. I heard people do it though. Good question! Hope this helps🫡

Hi, I try restart ps remote, ps5 and Wi-Fi. Also I try off HDMI in system, but still not working… Everything in videos I try, but still nothing :/ At same Wi-Fi there is not problem, but when I can try play outside home (public Wi-Fi or hotspot), there is something wrong. I haven’t been to any hotels yet! I’ve seen lots of successful setups. It’s remote play so connection and internet speeds play a big factor in performance. The haptics and vibrations make up for that imo. Thanks for the comment 🫡🔥🎮

I’ve seen people use the portal on airplanes ✈️ unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to record footage while in the sky since it was so early in the AM and I needed sleep!

@zrehman only works well at the house tbh. I took it with me to ATL and Tuscaloosa on 2 different WiFi networks, and it was laggy at best. Even at home, it dropped a few times. I just felt like for 200, you should get more value. None the less I have a steamdeck on the way.

hello sir i have a question i cant use my portal without keeping my ps5 running. if i put my ps5 on sleep mode i cant use my portal it doesn't sign in the only way it signs in only if i keep my ps5 running.

Thats the point, you need to keep the ps5 turned on for the ps portal to connect.

Your ps5 will turn on when you connect your portal if you’re away which is nice as long as it’s in rest mode and not off.
