Wheelers At Large are out cycling again this time taking the main roads to avoid big muddy puddles that we know many cars have driven through, were there hidden potholes? A road ride around Ringwood and Fordingbridge after the storms have passed through.
Help us fuel the rides with coffee ☕. - www.buymeacoffee.com/wheelersatlarge
Julie is riding her @LivCyclingWorld Liv Avail with @elitewheelscycles 47mm Carbon wheels.
Mike is riding a @MERIDABIKES-INT Scultura Endurance with @primebikecomponents2089 56mm Primevera wheels.

Yep, if there's a tailwind on any part RPW then it's headwind on the Run Way. Just need to hope for day with no wind 🤣 We don't hope for much do we... Cheers Paul

As a cyclist in Queen's Park, I was intrigued to see how you navigated around the A35 to get to the New Forest. I may give that a go to widen my route repertoire!

That has become our usual route. Sometimes up to Queens Park golf and under the road to Kings Park at BH Live then Southbourne to Tuckton Bridge. Thanks for watching 👍

Great ride guys a mixture of dry and wet but it would be nice a spell of dry weather and not constant rain 😕 and a nice coffee on route a win win👍🏻 keep peddling 🚲

Cheers Paul. The weather is getting a bit annoying now, can we not have a couple of days in a row with no rain..? Is that too much to ask 🤣

Good morning, Wheelers. Another wonderful ride, even with a few cars along the way. I would take your “busy” traffic over Boise’s any day. I was trying to complete a Garmin 1st quarter challenge over the weekend. I didn’t buy my Garmin until the end of Feb., so I basically had March to do the 420 miles. It ended up being 16 days that had decent weather. Going into this last weekend I still need 156. So, in the space of 45 hours (Fri. evening and Sat. and Sun.) I rode 31, 72, and 54 miles for a total of 157 and the badge. I just wish that Sun. hadn’t had 20mph+ winds with gusts near 35 or more. And it was mostly head- or crosswinds on the way home. I know it sounds like I’m griping, but it was the most amazing weekend of riding yet. Bike touring must be right around the corner. 😜

Amazing work John... A well earned challenge completed 👍 Sat navs tend to keep all the traffic on the A Roads ( major Highways) so mostly local traffic on these often more direct but secondary routes. Thanks for watching John 👍

Dry roads, clear blue sky, wet muddy lane, wet roads, high percentage of cloud, patches of blue, wind, almost certainly brief showers, traffic, kerb to kerb housing, Bridge Road Christchurch, yes, I remember that as a typical Hampshire-Dorset cycling day out.

The weather is getting a bit tedious right now... But we still jump on our bikes and hope for the best. 😁 I'll admit, the weather has stopped us doing some bigger rides, we would normally have done a 100 miler by this time in the year. Thanks for watching Stu 👍

Another holiday booked did I hear? The riding looks stunning over there so why not - go for it! Things we have learned today; Red cars are driven by t😲ss😲rs (hang on, I've had two red cars...) Motorcyclists have a sense of humour 🥳 Mike's farts smell of the countryside 🧐 As ever, great stuff!

you 2 certainly cover some miles ... most ive done is 40 tho i usually do around 20...may i suggest the old ox drove from Wingreen near Shaftsbury towards salisbury...and the nearby old Shaftsbury road which ive not yet done but im looking forward to doing if we ever get a dry day when im feeling well enough ....you could combine the 2 for a traffic free loop.. my mum was nearly killed on queens park ave / howard rd junction a few week back..so take care

Yes, riders definitely need to keep their witts about them on Queens Park. Lots of driveways and side roads for traffic to dive down or suddenly appear from. We've ridden from Win Green a couple of times, it's fantastic scenery. We're looking forward to getting out on our gravel bikes again soon, if things dry up a bit. Fingers crossed 😁 Thanks for watching Kelly.

I hope your next Mallorca trip gives Julie the oportunity to complete the lighthouse ride to her satisfaction and may you steer clear of closed roads and car/cyclist crashes. Take plenty of Mosquito 🦟 repellent though ☀️🥵🚴✈️👍

65 seems to work on my tubeless wheel and tyre setup and has always felt stable even on switchbacks. The carbon wheels are solid so the tyre has to do more work soaking up the bumps on our rough roads. Thanks for watching 👍
