Is the RETRO RECORD PLAYER LEGO set worth £225...

I never really had a problem of thinking Lego sets are bigger than they really are. Maybe it's because as a kid I played with them so much I basically know by heart how big every piece approximately is and can judge the size based on that. For example if you just look at the transparent studs on the right of it, those are tiny pieces so it's not gonna be very big. Personally I like the pieces it comes with, especially the window piecesand other useful ones, but definitely not worth spending that much if you're doing it just to get this.

Yeah true, but like you said this is alot just for that GWP. Better off on ebay
