Is the Sony Fs7 worth it in 2022?

I totally agree. The FS7 is the best all around camera ever made. It gets the job done. It also handles XLR inputs beautifully. I filmed two theatrically released features with it and thank God I didn't use a Red or an Alexa which are much more complicated to use.

Fact, I shout an entire boxing match yesterday with it and the fx3 and I wished I had 2 fs7s instead

We use the Sony FS7 almost exclusively. Shot an entire docu series for The CW on it. We have no plans for ever "upgrading" to a different camera.

I seriously considered upgrading to a Fx6 and changed my mind the day of, I just love the image out of this camera

@@m00photo92 We have personally used the FS7 together with the much more expensive FX9 in multi-camera shoots for FOX and The CW. We worried the FS7 image wouldn't hold up to the FX9, which is advertised as having the new "Venice" color science. To our surprise, the images from the two cameras looked EXACTLY the same. We couldn't tell which was which in post. I see absolutely no reason to upgrade the FS7.

@@SparkFosterFilms I just shot some testimonials for a company Yesterday using the Fs7 and Fx3 I honestly can't get enough of the image that comes out of this camera. and I have a metabones focal reducer on mine so you can't even tell which is which. Ill post the footage once released

personally got fs5 just for 1500€ + a lot of accessories. quality and ergonomics is really good!

The Fs5 is still a powerful Camera, many people don’t realize this camera was just upgraded to an fx6 almost 2 years ago. You get to save a lot of money with Raw capabilities, awesome slomo, it’s a powerhouse

It is such an amazing all-in-one solution. If it had autofocus then I could use it for all of my work!

That’s very true and you’re right sometimes the autofocus comes really handy, I just use the FX3 to accompany it

I never understood why there was such a rush to upgrade. I love my FS7. I have focus tracking cameras which can be handy, but that doesn't make good films. The person behind the camera does that. Quality 4K and RAW if you need it. Flexibility is superb too. 🎥

I couldn't agree more, and considering the price today, it's a steal, mine cost me more to customize it to my liking but I wouldn't trade it for anything. I have an Fx3 with superb autofocus, but it's superb until you have to shoot in a huge crowd and you watch that focus lose its mind and drag yours with it lol

Im finding it hard to want to upgrade. I mean, I AM envious of a few things on newer cameras like internal variable ND and slightly smaller bodies (over a whole day of a fully built cam on your shoulder, an extra lb shaved off really matters). However... I cant bring myself to swallow the cost of upgrading being as in the end you're not really getting a significantly improved image. Tho I'm a little worried if Iw ait much longer the resale value will plummet even more.

Hi i recently bought this camera but unfortunately I'm financially really low atm. So i only have the body i don't have any lenses or the external Sony adaptor. The eyepiace/scoupe is also missing. Im looking to shoot a whole feature with it. In your opinion which would be the cheapest lenses i can get that will make the footage very cinematic/film like? I heard rockinson primes are they good for this purpose? If not what's a cheaper alternative to get the job done? Also Is there a cheap option to the eyepiece ? Like a view finder magnifier or something? Would really appreciate any help and great video!

Cool video, I’m currently looking at changing my Sony A7iii for an actual video camera. How do you find managing the files on the FS7 compared to the FX3 using DaVin Resolve? Also, you didn’t mention that Netflix approves the FS7, but not the FX3 ;-).

thank you, Honestly they're not bad at all, I often shoot into and external recorder but as you know those files are humongous. So to send client work online I prefer using internal XQD card footage

I honestly haven’t, I’m trying to rent one to compare but based on the reviews I’ve watched it’s mostly the full frame and autofocus factor that are major differences.

Honestly I think $2000 is the lowest I’d go, often times you can get it for cheaper but I wouldn’t trust it personally.

I honestly haven’t tried it on sports but I think it’d do great, I always share content with clients post editing either through a link on Google drive or other file sharing platforms

I've worked with this camera on handblal streaming from tripod. But this is noce one for sports too. Altho FX6 is better and newer (better image, low light and auto focus). But this is pro-camera, this is not for you if you are asking how to share the videos with parents. For that, get a Sony A7 series camera, or the new FX30
