When I got Vanguard my goal was to only use the M1 Garand. I eventually mixed in the revolver as well but the vast majority of my kills were with the single shot M1. Eventually I dropped a 100 bomb with it and stopped playing the game lol. I haven’t bought another cod until BO6 and I was excited to do the same thing again only to find that I have to upgrade other guns to unlock certain optics and that the single fire guns are just total mid in this game so I gave up on that.

The SWAT in B02 was pretty fun. For some reason it had bullet penetration of an LMG so you could 1 burst people through walls at times if you ran FMJ. Nowadays good luck getting those hackustations with the SWAT.

It's just the TTK balancing. BO2 have a ~220ms TTK for full auto ARs, while the SWAT has a ~120ms TTK plus delay with less recoil. BO6 have a ~270ms TTK for full auto ARs while the SWAT has a 168ms TTK plus delay with more recoil.

I remember hearing this was one of the best guns to use during the beta, and then they nerfed the SWAT needlessly at launch. The AEK with rapid fire was far better. Here's hoping they give us a full auto conversion kit that turns this into the SIG552 or 553 carbine so this gun can actually be enjoyable to use again.

Technically it has a very impressive TTK. But you'll miss all your shots due to the horrible wobbly recoil (which attachments seem to barely effect) and then wait for the painfully long burst delay to die because your enemy used an actual reliable gun. Oh, and make sure you're ADSing long before a gunfight because like all marksman rifles in this game it handles like a psuedo-LMG. This thing is a dishonor to the BO2 swat.

Personally enjoyed this weapon a lot, it's hard to hit the one bursts, but when I was camo grinding on it, I eventually just got a feel for it and was hitting one bursts very reliably. One thing to mention about hardcore is you can change the fire mode so you don't get the huge burst delay since it's just a one-shot-kill

I got diamond with the Marksmen rifles and this by far was the most painful to do. Good tip I found with this gun for long distance was to switch from burst to single fire. But if you forget to switch it back for shorter ranges you will loose your gunfights haha (which I did many times)

I don't use Rapid Fire or hold trigger to shoot feature. I've learn to be really accurate with burst rifles after using for years Cold War's godly M16. The problem with the Swat is the damn idle sway which one laser takes care of it.

FAST MAG II is great on that gun. I highly recommend it. It gives it a much needed increase to aim down sight speed and reload speed. The 18 bullets are plenty to work with.

At first I thought I didn't like it, but eventually I kitted out for range with a 4x scope and stayed back. After that, the bounce was enough to land consistent headshots. Of the 3, the swat feels like it was meant for range, whereas the M16 with burst mod just happens to be accurate enough for it. Also its worth using the stock to reduce flinch, as well as the marksman foregrip, for the focus (recoil reduction). Honestly its the first gun where I thought about using different attachments and was quite impressed for it.

Marksmans should have better range (at least than ARs) because it is what they are made for, main problem here is recoil. Also with the majority of the maps being extremely close-quartered means burst delay matters alot as well.

@@RebelRising22 I have always loved the M4/M16 designs but being burst kept me away from using it. Until one day in CW I decided to use higher optic ( 2x magnification ) besides the red dot. I learned to be really accurate and it was fun and satisfying winning gunfights against quickscopers. I took it from 2,400 eliminations to above 65,000 in roughly 7 months. I'm a burst weapon fan since then.

The tsarkov is the only marksman I’ve had fun with. Add on the chf barrel for the long range 1 taps and it can be a lot of fun if you have the aim. Close range isn’t bad either because it’s a 2 tap.

Honestly put it in semi with recoil springs vertical grip, and chf, in core…not bad at all but not good. Goblin is still a better version but it becomes a useable weapon when camo grinding semi auto. Also headshots in hardcore semi auto is the fastest way to be done with it. Genuinely a filler weapon.

I'm actually working on getting this gold for this gun and played one of my best games on Babylon, I think Domination. Went 71 and 23 with a nice Ruthless killstreak in there. This gun can feel godly or pitiful, hitting your shot really matters with this gun. I also just prefer this gun over all cuz it's one of my favorites in general. If the movement was faster on this gun I think it might be my favorite gun in BO6.

At least with shotguns they have limited range and snipers have slower ads times and flinch(this feels inconsistent and it needs to be adjusted properly)

I think they would readjust swat 5.56 rate of fire to 1000 RPM on burst. To make the TTK quicker then adding full auto select fire that shoots 540 RPM and the damage profile remains the same

For those still grinding Headshots if your eyesight is horrible or you just cant see the enemies heads through the Keplar Microflex then i would highly recommend using the R&K Multizoom optic as i found it makes getting headshots much easier the closer you can see their head with the scope without being insanely close of you somehow got a sniper scope on it. But fair warning you may struggle in closer engagements if you have your sensitivity toned down for this type of scope. I mainly recommend this scope for Nuke Town and Stakeout specifically but the only gun i do not recommend using this or any scope for that matter is the AS-Val as i found the Default ironsights to be better for headshots as at least in my opinion there isnt as much visual recoil to throw off your aim and if yohr close enough to where their heads look bigger than your ironsights even slightly as in 10-15m then it will alaays result in a headshot from the first 3-5 bullets. But if your any further than i would recommend shooting the AS-Val lile its a burst fire weapon as the gun kicks very hard after the 1st and 5th bullet. But if your slightly further than 15m then aim for their neck and not direcrly at the head as bullets 2-5 will land on the head after bullet 1 jumps your gun up a bit. Hope this helps anyone still on the headshot grind.

It’s one of those guns that greatly depend on the connection quality. If you are in one of those lobbies where your shots don’t connect and you get killed around the corner, then it’s possibly one of the worst guns in the game, otherwise it is serviceable. The huge burst delay, coupled with a weird recoil pattern within the burst holds the gun back imo…

They always get burst weapons wrong. Recently. Either the burst needs to be extremely deadly with a long delay, or it needs to be difficult to get a one burst kill with a quick cycle rate. With this gun, it’s not only difficult to get a one burst kill, and has an egregious burst delay. What were they thinking….

Make the AEK rate of fire for the burst faster to make it more deadly, and make the Swat’s burst delay almost half of what it is now. There aren’t distinguishable enough as weapons right now and they need to be more distinguished and have strengths rather than mediocre as it is now

@ yeah MWIII was the only modern game that had decent burst guns once they buffed them. The Rival 9 burst was a perfect example of a 2 burst fast fire rate weapon. It was very competitive but not totally broken

Ace, any idea if a one burst kill is counted as a "One Shot, One Kill" medal? There is a Prestige 2 challenge that requires you to get "One Shot, One Kills" with Marksman or Sniper Rifles, but only one Marksman Rifle is capable of a one bullet kill (outside of hardcore game modes).

Hey ace, there is a setting for controller that enables the burst and single shot guns to be hold to fire. Not sure if that would be able help with testing burst and single shot fire delays.

Not sure why there are so many negative comments about the weapon. It's my second favorite Marksman rifle. The single burst kills feel very satisfying to pull off, and risk reward aiming is something I tend to really enjoy on weapons in most fps games. It makes it feel more rewarding the better you get at firing the gun.

I've been doing camos on the swat and in-between matches I jump into firing range and I think the swat is bugged. So with almost max accuracy on the closest dummy it 2 out of 5 bursts doesn't kill in one burst to the chest. I'm on Xbox series x and I've 550mbps down 150mbps up, hard cat6 connection it's too consistent in not one bursting in the range. Btw I tried with a long barrel and no rapid fire just to be sure even though the dummy is only a handful of meters away

'HARDCORE' This gun is a beast. Almost like cheating. If you are marginally above average with ADS, you will shock yourself at the TTK. The Model L (AR) and the SWAT (MR) can dominate games.

I don’t think the SWAT is too unforgiving, I think the AEK is heavily overtuned, and makes the SWAT look bad in comparison. I also think the ironsights aren’t as nice as the original BO2 iteration’s big wide irons. :(
