I have a 2007 VMPS Larger Subwoofer waiting for these TADs…. and what will really shock, and surprise you…. The only signal its ever had was during Quality Control at the factory in California, where it was built. Brian Cheyney answered the telephone himself when I called on March 9, 2007. He told me the price, I mailed him the money order from Woodforest Bank, and FedEx had it in my apartment April 16, 2007. When he died in December of 2012, I cried horribly because I knew if I ever burned one of its voice coils, I’d never get to replace it, since the company completely folded after his death. Nearly seventeen & 1/2 years have lapsed, and that very sub sits under two very heavy bath blankets waiting for those TADs, which I only play the Lotto for. I’m really not interested in nothing else, not even the flagship CR-1s. Their $112,000.dollar price is simply stupid obscene when Evolution 1s🌷 will do just nicely. But I want them outright, no long, drawn-out interest. I’ll just have to keep trying because I’m not giving up. In 2009, I had what a friend called a lucky ⚡️ spark of a hit at $454.00 so I at least have encouragement that it’s not impossible. And thank you for listening. -s c o t t🌹

TAD is most definitely Pioneer.its manufactured in the very same factory, yes it has dedicated engineers, etc but, its still to this day Pioneer. Look it up. TAD was derived from Bart Locanthi, who designed the HPM 100 and 150.

What do you think?
@Waitaminutesilly10 ай бұрын
If you are reviewing an audiophile gear, you should disclose associated gear that you're evaluating the speakers with. You should also reveal MRSP on them. These are standard on all audiophile reviews. TAD makes one the finest speakers in the world and this is one of the least expansive models at a cool $33K USD.
@JilesMcCoy10 ай бұрын
No, they aren't standard. As an example, MSRP changes quite often and calling out a MSRP has created far more issues over time than not calling one out. I have literally had hundreds and hundreds of people tell me a MSRP is wrong when they watch a video that is 1 year old. And during that time the price has gone up or down. Happy for folks to call it out in comments, but its not very valuable in the video itself.

I think you have the base plate of the stands flipped 180 degrees. The pointy end should be at the.back. Gave me a scare that I had set up mine incorrectly!

I did :) I like them so much that way though. But you are right, they are intended as you use them.

@@JilesMcCoy They are not just great Id say, they are probably in the 'greatest' territory but $30 k for bookshelfs is for the 1 percenters :) and thats what I was trying to say that the high price is not just reflective of high quality but probably to also keep them in the ultra high end territory.

A Switch? Why? Playing rap music to test speakers out is not good. I prefer the Beatles and Sam Cooke. That way you can better judge the mid-bass and stereo separation.

This measurements mean nothing. They just show how they sound in your room with this kind of speaker positioning and without spikes (what the h….). I bet you did not even exchange the jumpers with some that do the speakers justice. They should not have provided you with a sample when you are not running them properly. What is the rest of the system you played them with ? Maybe I missed that because I could not watch till the end but that is also important to know.
@JilesMcCoy9 ай бұрын
Yeah, no way I’m spiking in hardwood floors. And of course I didn’t change the jumpers. That would be ridiculous in a test. And the measurements are very meaningful. Obviously they aren’t anechoic measurements… but none of us run speakers in that environment anyway.
@barrymiller33858 ай бұрын
Thanks for the review. There seems to be a lot of criticism in the comments about your methodology. Personally I think what you did was fine. You can only work with the equipment you have available in your own environment. When it comes down to it by far the mist important tools you have are your ears and your experience. The one criticism I would agree with is that I do believe that the associated system you used for the test IS important. Knowing that enables your viewers to draw more informed conclusions from your review. I have heard these and their predecessors several times now. If I could afford them these are the speakers I would buy!
