Didn't see a comment on this but in just incase. You don't have to use premium gas per toyota. I'm on my 2nd a 2010 and use regular gas and every 5k I add a additive to keep it clean. Let me know if you have questions about fj's I love mine it's a all white or iceberg white. I know what you mean about keeping it clean I own 2 beagles and live in WA state.

I’m glad it’s been ok for you but that’s a recipe for shortening the lifespan of the cats... which are connected to down pipes and run over 2k in parts alone

2010 and up toyota never even recommended or put a sticker or anything that says you need premium. Your fj must be earlier than 2010 the 07-09 if you read the manual it actually says reccomend but regular is fine. There is a bulletin from toyota out that actually confirms this and regular wont damage your rig.

I have a question anyone could help me if you have an answer, im going to be getting two gsds should i use an e-collar to kind of train them/control behavior? i know e-collars dont shock them but do they really help the dogs with stopping a certain action?

What age, puppies? First see how food/toy motivated they are. With dogs it is all about routine. I would not put an ecollar on a puppy, 6months and up.

Would not suggest e-collars without educating yourself and the pups and they certainly do not get used on a pup under 6 months. Robert Cabral does an awesome online course in ecollars. I think it’s like 6-8 videos, highly recommend. Https://robertcabral.com/that-enzo-and-lotus/ I

tiny SUV's are not the best...Ram 2500 Mega Cab w/ Cummins Turbo diesel or 1500 Eco-Boost w/ Cummins Turbo Diesel, Both 4x4. Heck any Full Size Truck. Though you will have the most room in the RAM. If you can jump into a Mega™ Cab....DO IT. Our Shep loves the truck. With the seats up, and the deck down, she has an area the size of a twin Air mattress and dbl the head room a little SUV. Mega™ Cab...you can fit up to a full xl....just giving you all a nominal idea. My Wife has a Jeep Wrangler (4 dr) Dog always looks cramped. If you get the Diesel...You will be getting better MPG as well....especially on the HWY. I will say this...I'd love to baja a Toy FJ.

I'm looking at a FJ and my border collies would love it. They would also love that hitch step especially my older one. What is the brand of the hitch step, is it Heininger by any chance? That's the closest I could find on amazon.

I had the poor man’s alternative, the Nissan Xterra. It is worth a look for a good pup truck. I actually looked at the FJs too, loved the look of them but it was very quirky to drive, didn’t like that it was only 2 full doors, and the Nissan was a boatload cheaper. I loved the fact that the Xterra also didn’t have carpet which made wipe downs easy. I just bought a F-150 and love it, but think our GSD girl misses the Xterra. Both are great, bulletproof SUVs. Unfortunately, they stopped making them, I probably would have bought another.

You know, I'd laugh like crazy if I "turn on the internet" and see a 'low speed' Police chase with Enzo & Lotus inside the FJ, somewhere on I-75 with a string of Cop cars, Police & Media helicopters circling overhead because there was a "big" Elk horn heist at a local-organic pet store ... Rally is in back of the FJ, pretenting to be a hostage, trying to inconspicuously get back home ... with no one noticing ... it would do wonders for the 'view'-count ...'likes' ... maybe not ... ;-) ...

If the back seat is never used take the head rest off and the backs fold down a lot easier. I like that the back seat folds up to make a little barrier from the front.

Love the FJ! I have a 4Runner and I'm looking into the hitch step you purchased for our GSD to help protect the hips we will be getting in a few months. Do you have any issues with rust and the swivel mechanism seizing?

Yes 🙄 so annoying. We need to purchase a new one at this point bc ours has gotten pretty bad. Will just cleans it and oils it from time to time to put a bandaid on it.
