I bought my wife a 2020 Premier 2LZ last Spt. 30th. Her SRX was getting up in miles. 150K on it. I was all set to buy her a new XT4. But, a coworker of hers had just bought a Equinox Premier 2LZ and they went to lunch together and my wife really liked that CUV. We test drove a 1.5L Premier and she hated it. Test drove the 2.0L and she loved it. She selected a nearly loaded version. No sunroof. A feature she has never used on her SRX. The bottom line, her coworker saved me several thousand dollars. The wife is happy with her new ride and my wallet is happy with the savings.

@@dyl6085 No, it's not bad at all. As I said, it was my intent to buy her one. And she was happy with that. But, when she experienced the Equinox Premier 2.0L her co-worker had just purchased she liked that as well and told me she wanted to test drive some before I bought the XT4. The 2020 Equinox Premier 2LZ is significantly less money and the wife is happy with it. And, that makes me happy.

My '08 Impala "sleeper" *THAT I ADORE* is in the dealer for a "recall" on seals... The dealer gave me a "loaner"... a 2020 Equinox PREMIERE XTL Edition, tricked to the NINES... I'm a loyal Chevy Fan, but this Equinox is NOT something I would recommend & here's WHY: ...It has torque steering... *EXTREMELY UNSTABLE ON ACCELERATION!!!* The steering wheel vibration illustrates just how easy it would be for an inexperienced driver to completely loose control!!! I've taken my Impala to a REAL TRACK, opened her up... I KNOW what she is capable of. I've clocked her above 150mph... J-turns... Hydro Challenges to understand her ranges of control... She is built to handle real-world, split-second dynamic shifts... *The Equinox IS NOT!!!* ....4 CYLINDER ENGINE doesn't even look like an engine- under the hood is a bunch of "boxes" w/lines & hoses running between them... ALL COMPUTERIZED!!! Not even the battery is actually identifiable!!! You can't even add washer fluid yourself!!! Add this to the fact that the engine emits a high-pitched "whine" clearly audible from the driver's seat when you punch the accelerator... I nic-named this one "Dino" after Fred Flintstone's dog!!! ...*TOO MUCH ELECTRONICS & NOT ENOUGH REAL VEHICLE & REAL CAPABILITY!!!* It looks "boss" with the 2-tone paint job, Chrome trims, panoramic moon roof, crash intervention... but I LIKE DRIVING... I MAKE MY OWN DECISIONS... *I WILL NEVER TRUST A COMPUTER TO "SAVE" ME FROM A BAD SITUATION!!!* And... NO CD PLAYER!!!!!!!!!!... when I questioned the dealer about that, I was told "they did it deliberately to "encourage" owners to keep their Sirius XM accounts active"... Again... my Impala sports an 800 watt Infinity System that has won twice for Best Audio at car shows... I shut my Sirius account down... My extensive CD LIBRARY says I have unlimited great music to listen to on a CONCERT HALL SYSTEM... You *CANNOT* change any of the electronics in the Equinox, as the head unit is the central "brain" of the human interface!!! Nope.... Again... I don't want a computer making my decisions for me!!! Besides, even "tweeking" the equilizer on the Bose hasn't even come close to the Infinity Quality in my Impala!!! ...AWD....not gonna get very far in snow with cheap foreign tires... That set-up seems prime for LOOSING control. Final assessment: *DEFINITELY NOT WORTH IT'S $46,000 BEFORE TAX, TITLE, DELIVERY, WARRANTY COST ADDITIONS!!!* I got the Equinox w/only 8 miles on it... BRAND NEW!!! The dealer even admitted it was "bait".... *NOPE!!!* I'll KEEP my Impala... She's a REAL VEHICLE... 5.3L V8 SUPERCHARGE...rear wheel drive, Dynaride Suspension, 50th Anniversary Edition, Cooper Trac Racers, Racing Brakes, Killer Audio System, SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM, rack & pin steering for superb handling, even in tight situations at elevated speeds, and I like the comfort & her ride...LTZ!!! Chevy DID NOT impress me with this Equinox... Not at ALL... so I have NO DESIRE to pursue the Equinox.... it's ratios are out of wack... Don't take a turn too fast cause it will tip right over!!!

Actually Toyota’s last very long since they are made with durable materials such as plastic but they have terrible service, my mom bought a rav4 back in 2018 and it was and still is a headache dealing with the shop, to begin with when we were going to buy the car they didn’t treat us politely,to say the least, when we were going to pick up the car the day it was ready, the trunk space was full of cut cables from the install of a camera, which in our country the RAV4 only comes with parking sensors and no camera that’s why we installed an aftermarket one, the tint on the windows wasn’t properly applied in the rear windows, few months later we take it to get an oil change and when we get it back the windshield is al scratched up, also the rear doors had a weird squeaking rubber sound which they didn’t manage to fix until recently, then the head lights get humid if it is a raining and the temp. is hot outside, the fake leather trim that goes around the radio, air controls and passenger side was also scratched when we got it back from the shop , when we serviced it and got it back the fog lights didn’t work, to end things with a cherry on top, the engine sometimes makes a weird squeaking noise and the car trembles a little... at this point I am just waiting for the moment the car breaks down so we get our money back, such a headache with this crap, we should have bought an Isuzu MU-X

Would Subaru Forester be a competitor here?
@normt54634 жыл бұрын
Not sure how the redesigned Forester is on the quality front but Subaru over all is a low quality vehicle as is anything new from them. The Equinox offers 250 horsepower 2.0T engine the Firester does not offer any option.
@FlipxFit4 жыл бұрын
@@normt5463 Thanks for the info! How about the forester fitting in this segment in terms of size specs?
@Raptor-bt6zp3 жыл бұрын
How much ?
@aerontudor65424 жыл бұрын
Nice, it could use some improvements by changing the shift lever to electronic button, along with larger electronic speedometer, 10 inch or more usable screen. Also, the rear tires can be pushed back few more inches to allow more rear passenger leg room along with making the vehicle more wide. (i.e. VW Atlas CrossSport). Any updates on the twin GMC Terrain maybe with the same updates? I'm a loyal GM owner - hear us GM and give us what we want... lol... I'm looking to buy next year! two new crossovers... =0)

I always liked the new generation Eqinox, however I recently watched another KZbin video on the 2020. The showed the undercarriage and it was totally unprotected and lots of seams were soldered or finished so sloppily that it really turned me off. Have you checked it out? Thx Joe
