Is the UV SLIDER worth $600?

Very nice review of the UV Slider! Thank you so much. I don't understand why UV left one of the most important marketing 101 messages to customer's and KZbinr's...How to set-up the sight on a bow! "A detailed set-up, sight-in video should be bar coded in the sight box! This video could be easily done by one of their pro archery reps. At the price of the sight, this is a no-brainer for potential customer's.

Great review, I bought this sight about a month ago and have really been enjoying it. One thing I like about it as well vs a spot hogg triple stack or HHA tetra 4 pin is the housing is a little bit smaller. HHA always hid behind my riser a little. I could also get this sight nearer to my riser than my spot hogg with a dovetail. I also really like having 3 markers on your sight tape so you can see yardages for every pin. I agree the colors of the markers are not great. Someone mentioned painting them red I think in Archery Talk. Setting it up was a breeze as well, was the easiest sight to set up comparing from my exp with Black & Gold, Spot Hogg, HHA. I do agree with customization should be included but I bought mine off the shelf.

Personally, I can’t see buying this at a $599 price point. I have used the CBE TL3 slider for several years now. After using others over the last 20+ years this one just works fine. My target setup bow has an Axcel sight w/ Shrewd nomad scope. All this bought second. Everything works perfectly on both setups. And I know I don’t $600 in all of it. 👍👍👀

I paid 300 bucks for my open box CBE Elevate that came with a rigid travel case and it has beautiful ball bearing clicky feedback on all the dials with zero lash and you have tapes and pointers on both sides with the ability to mount a magnifier on the inside tape. It just uses a 10-32 scope rod which is harder to find apertures for in recurve. QD for the scope means I can loosen one Allen screw and remove it for packing and two guide pins on the windage block easily line it up for mounting back without losing zero. I’ve never touched third axis but I know I can. Now I’m in the market for another sight, either for my recurve or compound, but strictly for target. 600 bucks better buy a sight that’s twice as premium as my CBE or else I can’t justify buying something new, better off second hand or open box for a good value. Btw, my elevate slides up and down with the press of a button and the dials still retain zero lash after sliding. Very well made.

The archery industry is getting out of control, let's say you purchase a new carbon bow for $1800 then a sight for $600, thats $2,300 and doesn't include a rest, stabilizer, or arrows. You can buy a really nice 1000 yard rifle with scope set up for that.

Without even watching, nope... I have a bow with a shitty little truglo on it that I can shoot 100 yards accurately with. I also have a hoyt carbon turbo with a 300.00 spothogg on it, and it shoots the same groups. It's mostly archer and bow tuning.

Great review! Question for you: UV mentions in their setup flyer that the 1st & 2nd axis is already set at the factory. Did you have to adjust yours? Also, was the 3rd axis set at the factory pretty close? Good content, very in depth review, nice work!

It’s a nice site, but priced about $150 too high. Not a great deal for the money spent. My 2 biggest complaints. First the pins are not bright enough compared to other sights. For that price they should be brighter. Second… there should be a hard stop when putting the sight all the way to the too. Thirds, micro adjust on the 1st and 3rd pins. Way too much money to be lacking these features.

Great review, Is the center pin adjustable? Would you ever use the center pin as 20 yards when you know your not going to use the top pin? Does the sight come with a side mount adapter for bows that don't Intergrated mount directly like the Mathews and Hoyt? Final question, what is brand name of the red sight leveler, Looks like it would be easier to level 1st and 2nd axes.

The center pin is fixed. Not adjustable. You can roll the center pin up and shoot it at 20 with no problem. I tested that out and it worked great. The sight does come with a dovetail style mount for those who aren't shooting an Integrate style. The sight leveler that I have is made by "Brite Site". (Britesite.us) is their website. @kenrobertson1463 take the scope off and lay it on the tape with your middle pin sitting on the 30 yard mark. Then you would slide your top pin to where the 20 is and everything should line up no problem. Same thing with the bottom pin. Slide it up to 40 and all 3 pins should be really close to sighted in. Might have to make some small adjustments.

Well 600$ seams high for an archery product but there are sights that are 50$, just like there are civics and lambos, can get you to point a and b the same but is a passion of the best. Personally if you look at hha new custom sights without any real new tech, they are almost 600$ without a light. I bought the arxos and tried it and unfortunately it looked great and had a nice inverted rail for more clearance and is customizable but it was not quality for the money. Housing was always loose, the extra pin markers to adjust was absolutely horrible and had to use tweezers. Sight tapes were way off. Needs a lot of work to be that much money. But ultraview looks like 100% quality. Thoughtful and built for the best. I will try it probably. Yes I wish it was cheaper but also it’s probate best and y wouldn’t it be the most value? That’s just how the world is, I like your review. But was 100% right on customization. I love to match and didn’t like the grey housings on sights and didn’t offer black even very much. That was a bummer.

Of the things that make the shot possible release, rest and sight the sight is the least important component. A $600 sight isn’t going to make you shoot better and it won’t be any more accurate than $40.00 sight.

If that sight is what a man wants and he's got the scratch to buy it and it don't bother him then that's absolutely cool. But it's very over priced, even more than other flagship sights which are also ridiculous. It probably cost them 60$ to make that sight. Companies are getting way to greedy in the archery business

I replaced a $400 black gold dual track after one hunting season and a couple missed opportunities that would’ve been much more possible with the uv. I compared it to a hunting scope because it’s directly applicable. You can hunt effectively with a $100 bushnell scope in most situations. But do you not think that a $700 Leupold is worth the added investment if it has features that can give you an edge? I’m not saying it’s for everyone or at all necessary but it does have distinct advantages over many of the other less expensive sights on the market.

It is called inflation and overhead. You manufacture a bow sight of this quality in the U.S. and see where your price ends up getting set in order to stay in business and pay your employees and yourself a livable wage.

Why would you use middle pin for 20?

@tonyviers-de9qi it's the only pin on the sight that's fixed. Plus if you are using the provided sight tape scale, it requires you to sight in to 20 first. That way, the middle pin is perfect on all sight marks after being sighted in. Then you adjust the 2 adjustable pins to where you want. For example. My home base is. 30, 40, 50. So I set the middle pin to 40, and micro adjust the top pin down to 30 and bottom pin up to 50. Everything falls in line if done correctly

NO static simple sight like this is worth as much as a good scope, the market has trained you guys INSANE... Really think of the tech involved in a multi coat, multilens precision machine barrel, variable power magnification with parallax, windage and elevation adjustments to handle the vibration of magnum high power rifle rounds and be inert gas filled so water proof and fog proof...the tech for primary or secondary reticles with BDC and or windage pyramid... DUDES really think about what this is a bit of machined aluminum that doesn't have to be precise.. Really really look at it and a good scope hell a whole bow...and come to terms with $600 OTD price for some EASY to manufacture shit that might cost $80 to produce...might... Simple mechanical sight on an adjustable rail using century old tech...with fiber optic pins come on guys...vs even a laser range finder or spotting scope....or rifle scope or your damn phone...they want for that sight what modern phones cost ...THINK.... Yall have to STOP buying the shit to get the industry back under control cause it's runaway with 2k carbon risers and 600 sight with 300 rest to shoot the same distances we been Killing deers with bows for 40 years.... Is the sight worth it? ( obviously not ), well it's worth what you will pay for it, so band together stand up and tell them NO but good job on the sight or send one to alibaba for copy.... Have ya watched a Dragon X8 or 10 video? The adjustment for the 3rd axis is also a con. If you are adjusting it on a vice at static like you did, then it is fine, but that is not as accurate as adjusting it on the bow at full draw. The people who have not played with these may not realize that to adjust the 3rd axis correctly you have to also loosen one screw from the 2nd axis adjustment block and make sure the other is only snug, and not tight. Then you have to loosen both screws for 3rd axis adjustment. Having to loosen 4 screws to set the 3rd axis is just asinine. You should not have to loosen anything besides the screws for the 3rd axis to adjust the 3rd axis!

My new bow was just $550. I am not about to pay $600 for any sight. I don’t care if it’s gold plated. It’s not worth it. Everyone is pricing everything so high they are pricing themselves out of business. If they knew how many now owners there really were, they would see that very few can afford a top end bow and then all of the accessories to go on it. Feathers, my gosh they cost about $125 for food true fight feathers. I am going with vanes for my indoor set up. I cannot afford feathers anymore. It’s INSANE.

hog father 7 pin may cost 550, sight and double pin are half the price, you can adjust dial tension so no need to engage lock. material wise it has double the value in materials to make the sight. the slider is a cheap made, overpriced sight worth around 200 max
