I never get to think even to bother with youth team. Coaches and training schedules. i try to follow this guide on scouting and develop players now coruna got 2 golden generations in a row( i take pleasure in small things myself too) and im in top of the league fighting for the title with real madrid

Great tips, going to focus more on personalities for now. I’m not too bad with scouting and youth development but finding those good youth recruitment batches within my own academy has been jarring!

Hi Daljit. I was interested to watch this video to see if you have the same experiences as I, and a little surprised that you don't. I completely agree that it's easy to get "Golden Generations", but when I have delved deeper and looked under the hood to try and track these intakes, the results suggest that while they might be labelled a Golden Generation, their actual CA/PA suggest that they are nothing of the sort. Don't get me wrong, the CA and PA stars look decent, but when I look and see the actual CA/PA, then it suggests something completely different. I reported this to the boffins a long time ago and I'm not currently seeing it in recent intakes, so it's possible that this is something that they have managed to resolve in the recent update. There seems to be a complete disconnect between the Youth Intake Preview and the Youth Intake itself. Labels like "Golden Generation" are all well and good, (and it's a brilliant aspect of the game), but if they don't correlate to the actual ability or potential of the players in that particular intake then what's the point?

The staffs that's responsible for it, I've made sure that all of them are either model citizen, model professional, professional or at the very least, fairly professional and it works! Thanks again!

I'm currently using Benfica, so similar to Sporting. I use your 1 to rule them all for the 1st & B team, the youth is similar but i tweaked it slightly for the current season, so there are minor differences over 3 weeks. I also sacked my 2 time league winning B coach, so the B would play the same system as the rest of the club, the 4231. I'm curious to see if my tweaks make any difference and if the B team change helps players coming thru from the 23s & 19s

Hi. If I’m happy with a young players determination & personality is there any obvious reason to keep them in the senior squad vs the U23 squad? My senior squad page is getting a bit crowded and there’s 1 or 2 players who don’t need mentoring I’m thinking could be moved!

I would take them out i normally rotate them in and out.

Turns out after removing them from the senior squad if I add them back to senior training (so just the relevant unit) I could still add them to mentoring groups so that helped me tidy the senior squad screen up a bit. Thanks for the reply 👍🏻

My team normally plays two games a week so it's hard to train. In my second save we are semi pro, so they don't train either.

@@vlwl26 no a technical director is someone who helps with the backroom staff, you can ask them to sign and sack your backroom staff and negotiate contracts, they are specifically for backroom staff. you need good judging staff ability and negotiation for them as well as the standard parameters for any good employee. A DoF is someone who helps with buying or selling players for your team and negotiating contracts for new players, or existing players who need a new contract. They can also recommend players for your team or sign players for you. You need good judging player ability, potential ability and negotiating as well as the standard parameters for any good coach. I use a DoF a lot to negotiate a contract or recommend what to offer as it gets past the pesky/greedy agents. Just search by, DoF as preferred role or existing role to find them on the staff search, they can be expensive and if you're on the lower leagues, good luck finding a really good one.

"Golden generations" in fm21 dont mean "golden generation". They are far more common because the players in these generations are not actualy that good sometimes. Even in the examples you gave, most of the players in each generation are not that amazing. Its a good generation no doubt, but gold generation?
