Trading Cade is unfortunately not the move, what we get a 20th pick from the Spurs for him?
@davidcolegio13744 ай бұрын
Cade is the most stable foundational piece we have and Rico wants him traded for table scraps. So he wants to see the spurs take another step forward and the pistons take 10 steps back? Cool.
@marcusjohnson41164 ай бұрын
Dejounte Murray was traded to the Hawks for 3 first round picks. Murray was averaging 20/8/9 in his 6th year. Cade is averaging 22/4/8 in his 3rd year. The idea he'd only get you 1 first round pick is preposterous
@bigfellamike19134 ай бұрын
@@davidcolegio1374the Pistons 10 steps back? LMFAO we have no where to step backward to our backs are against the wall, we don't even have a GM or president of basketball operations right now. I now see that our city has a bunch of casual fans they don't understand basketball and how things work Rico is 100% correct in his assessment of the current state of our franchise the Pistons cannot get better with cade as its franchise player they should package him with ivey and stewart for future assets and picks to jump start the franchise again is the only way otherwise through 15 to 20 wins consistently over the next five years cade is not a franchise player he doesn't have what it takes

We will see after this year, Cade will always have this amount of value but we did need one of these other picks to boom for this rendition of the rebuild to succeed. There is a world where Cade signs his extension and has to wait another 2 or 3 years for the player we draft this year or next year to develop into a star like he did but that’s asking a lot
@phil1980boy4 ай бұрын
Jerred Goff is correct. The Detroit Media is so negative!!!
@montana014 ай бұрын
It’s a very difficult fix. They’ve got some good young pieces and cap space, they just don’t fit. So ideally you trade Ivey for someone who can shoot, and add a veteran who can score in FA/trade. Run with Cade, Ausar, Duren, a shooter and someone like Brandon Ingram or Dejounte Murray. Then you got the #5 pick, swing for the fences. Sounds crazy, but consider Bronny, or trading the pick. We got nothing to lose, and hope we hit the lottery next year.

People are mad at Rico because he has the guts to say what many people don't want to face... Paid Cunningham at his absolute peak is good enough to be maybe the third best player on NBA championship team probably fourth... Unless you guys realistically think we can get three better players in here or even two what Rico suggests isn't wild. It just sucks and is unfortunate but our front office has drove us to this point. Page Cunningham is most likely going to sign his rookie Max extension but after that I think we should definitely look for trade partners if we still haven't won 28 or more games by then which I honestly don't see happening
@lancer22554 ай бұрын
How is this a crazy take? We have one good player surrounded by mediocre to low end talent. Hold on to him and waste his years? Only way to build a legit NBA roster is through the draft or FA. Clearly no superstars want to come here, so you turn to the draft. Trade Cade for as many 1st round picks as you can get. Doesn’t sound all that crazy to me…

@marcusjohnson41164 ай бұрын
Pacers traded their best player and are now in the 2nd round of the playoffs. I agree with Rico but I would add you could also trade for an established player instead. Ivey's skill set is more de'aaron fox but Cade plays point. Let Ivey run point, trade Cade for a good stretch big, and draft bpa and that's 30+ wins instantly

Definitely do not trade Cade. Start dealing some of those 1st’s for proven players or hire someone that can actually evaluate talent and not waste all of the lottery picks. Trading your only foundational piece would set the pistons back even more (if that is possible) especially with the idiot in the GM chair still having the power to make that deal.

The quick fix for the pistons is trading the draft picks for stars that need a new home. The pistons have gambled on the draft every single year and it doesn’t work. Should have traded the first last year before the lottery and they could have gotten a superstar for the wemby sweepstakes
