Is there an age limit to RVing? Or is it more about being able to handle the demand RVing requires rather than a number. Your thoughts?

I am 64, single, and live full time in my TT. I do boondock in my daughter's driveway in Seattle during the summer months and then travel the southwest the rest of the year. It's a good mix for me. I only drive a maximum of 3 hours per day and stay in an area for 1 to 2 weeks, mostly boondocking. I am really enjoying this lifestyle.

I am 64 and have no problems towing our 44 ft fifth wheel around. Sometimes my mind tells me I'm still 18.and my body tells me otherwise. Barb and I when we started this adventure 4 years ago.We never put a time restraint on it. I had an uncle that RV well up into his 80s. As long as you're able to stay mobile. This lifestyle can accommodate all ages. We try to stay around the 4/5 hours 250 miles. We start out early in case we have any issues We have done a 550 mile day but that is very tough on us. That always depends on the road you're on. Love the discussion.

I think 6-8 hours that's taking breaks going to our stopping point and starting again the next day rest is the best way to stay alert, and I'm 68 until my body says it is time to settle down but stay active

I turned 65 earlier this month. I have some joint issues in my shoulders, hips, and my knees . I also had cataract surgery in both eyes back in 2020. I also ride a Harley Davidson and do long touring trips, in addition to traveling in a 5th wheel trailer. I am constantly monitoring my health and eye sight. I hope to be able to enjoy both hobbies for many years to come, but I also want to be very honest with myself about when it's time to discontinue both activities. My dad had dementia and we had a terrible time getting him to relinquish his car keys. I reminded him that being selfish and driving beyond his ability to do so safely could injure or kill some innocent people. Something happened to him while driving across town one day, and I got the call that he was ready to hand off the keys. He wouldn't discuss the situation, but I was happy that he was okay and that he hadn't hurt anyone in an accident. I pray that God grants me the grace and wisdom to know when it's time to hand off the keys as well! Safe travels, and here's hoping for many great adventures until then!!!

No age limit if you’re able to continue! I retired at 60. I turned 62 this month , I’m thankful. We tow a 38ft travel trailer & try to keep travel days short, leave early and take breaks as needed. The only concern (my girlfriend more than me) is lifting a Weigh Safe heavy duty WDH /Sway Control when hitching the TT. Like you I exercise daily and eat healthy (most of the time😁). Continued happiness and health to you and the Mrs. Good subject !

We're 68, and believe as long as we have our health, coordination, judgement and eyesight we'll keep going. We boondock almost exclusively now which requires more strength and endurance than staying in a FHU RV Resort. I think this will keep us younger longer. I hope to be able to live this lifestyle for at least 10-12 more years, before I'm forced to start slowing down, staying in RV parks more, moving seasonally and such, before eventually hanging up the keys. But time will tell. A medical emergency could call an end to it prematurely for any of us.

We are not full time RVers but are retired. We get to travel a lot in our Tiffin, even way up here in Canada. We just returned from the Sturgis Rally and I found myself pushing the travel days to about 9.5 hours, leaving between 8-8:30 and stopping by 6pm. But my preference is to keep it under 7 hours. If we can get 350 miles down the road, I'm happy with that. My mind and body start to rebel against going much further. Our longest ever day, which I will never repeat hopefully, was Page AZ to Butte, MT. 14 hrs and 800 miles. Way too much in a class A in one day. The best part about the Tiffin is stopping whenever nature calls and the ability to make a coffee & a snack on the road without having to get too far off the hwy. I miss the motorcycle vlogs, hope you produce some more in the future. Safe travels!

I’m 69 and my wife is 59. I am retired law enforcement but we now own several businesses and work our schedules together. We have a large Lance truck camper with double slides on a dually truck. Our style of traveling is probably different from most RVers. Last year we left Texas and took a month long trip to California, Oregon, and all points in between. During our 27 nights on the road we camped in 22 places. The majority were boondocking in national forests. For the most part, 2 to 3 nights in one place is the limit. Setting up and taking down each day was minimal but it’s great exercise. Somedays we traveled over 400 miles. Most days much less than that. We like to stop and take in the scenery. My wife is a photographer and loves to take photos of breathtaking places. We have no intention of slowing down. We traveled across the U.S. by motorcycle for many years and might go back to doing more of that from time to time. We both see age as just a number and refuse to give in. We will continue to travel for as long as we can. May God bless you and your wife and we pray you have many years of safe travels to come.

I will be 63 in November. We have a 42' Monaco Dynasty Class A diesel pusher. I agree with you. I prefer not to drive at night. Not because I can't see, but because showing up to a campground after dark, pulling in and setting up in the dark is just not exciting. I really don't like driving more than 6 hours. I like to pull into a rest area and walk around every two hours. We flat tow a Lincoln MKX. One thing I have noticed though is my burned calories go up by 900 on drive days. With that big comfy Captains chair I don't understand why. I wear a Garmin fitness watch and for the six years we have owned our motorhome this has been the case on every drive day.

I'm 73 and my wife is 80, we been Rving now for 24 years with TT, 5th wheels and class A motorhomes. We cannot park our RV by our house because we live in a 55+ HOA gated community. Our RV is stored off site at a RV storage facility about 3 or 4 miles away. On every trip we have to go fetch our RV and are only allow 48 hours RV parking in front of our house loading and unloading. This 48 hour window is to load or unload, house cleaning and maintenance/upgrades. Usually we only have time for loading all our clothes, food, electronics, fire pit, grills etc. We don't leave everything in our RV when in storage, expensive items we leave at home and we only take with us items that will be need on this particular trip. We may not need a fore pit or a screen house and so on. My wife has COPD so she is already short on breath and can only help load a few light things, I'm doing most of the loading, changing sheets, loading food etc. It's like moving in or out of a small apartment on every trip. It is starting to get too physical for use, my knees climbing up on the truck and up and down of the trailer stairs is starting to take it tow. Sometimes it's 115 degrees in Phoenix loading up to go to the higher cooler country. Even in early morning or late at night it can still be 100 degrees when you're loading up. We love RVing and joke about going full time but realize our health won't get better. Since we have traveled to all for corners of the USA and everywhere in between the last couple years we are just RVing in the southwest only. We only drive 200-300 miles or 3-4 hours per da which ever comes 1st. We are booked for RV sires for the remainder of this year so who know if we will be RVing in 2025, we take it a month at a time. I think our next chapter once we hang up the RV keys will just buy a small piece of land in the high country and bid a vacation home for get-aways.
