Hi aoflex, First of all, appreciate your postings! Making rigorous physics (rather than the public lectures) accessible is vital. There is a growing audience for this. Thanks so much! To Steve, in simplest terms, many would regard the firewall as violating the equivalence principle of GR by placing a discontinuity at the horizon. And that's just one issue. Not impossible, but a major change in our theoretical framework. There are more subtle resolutions to the paradox that are now being explored by folks such as Raphael.
