Is There Anything Left To Be Excited About in 2024 From Home Arcade? 2024 has be a rough year with only 2 games revealed and released from Arcade1Up, The Full Size New Wave Rumors were false or delayed and the only other product we knew of the AtGames Legends Ultimate 4K is delayed until late this year. Is there anything else to look forward to ort should we Abandon all hope for Home Arcade in 2024?

I agree with your comments on the potential NewWaveToys full size cabinets... Shilo did also say that the control decks are the first piece of the puzzle to get to full sized. That's basically saying that if the control decks are a hit, then they will take the next step forward... just not sure how many steps or pieces of the puzzle they're giving themselves to advance through. That being said, there was a Facebook poll asking who all is planning to buy the control deck, and it was only 12% with around 400+ votes... not looking good so far. Also consider the cost.... if only the 1:6 scale and control deck comes in at $400, a full sized is going to be like $1,500+. Also consider shipping... NewWaveToys doesn't do DIY kits (aka flatpacks). If they make a full sized cabinet, they will most likely be fully built in house and shipped on a crate... that alone could be like $600. If NewWaveToys does do a flatpack, then you're already looking a quality that will be subpar compared to the Replicades. I just don't see a route for them to go full scale that is practical AND the way everyone wants... everyone wants a full scale Replicade with no quality loss and at an affordable price, just seems impossible. At best, they release only 1 full sized cabinet before realizing it was a huge financial mistake. I also highly doubt it would release before 2026 if they attempt it. But people aren't going to be nearly as forgiving when it comes to what game that is... it's going to take up a lot more real estate in your home... and probably be $2,000+ out the door. The thing is, there are a few companies out there already equipped to build replica arcade cabinets right now, and they are around that $2,000+ price range.

Arcade1up was asked when they first started what their business expectancy was, they said 5 years. It has been over 5 years now. Unfortunately the end is near. I'm satisfied with the 15 Arcade1up machines and 2 full-size arcade machines I own. They all still look new and work well.

In terms of Unico, the Nova blast is for people (like me), who want 1 or 2 Mulicades. I don't want the room full of arcade machines, I have a man cave, with limited space, and have no desire to make the whole thing consist of arcade cabs. But if I added up the cost of 3-4 A1up cabs... well That's one Nova Blast, that's better quality, better controls, WAY bigger screen, and the ability to grow and upgrade with me

58:16 Yaaa man!!! I managed to get their Last Wave of the Super Nt(SNES) and Mega Sg(Genesis), Big Toxcyn helped me get an Analogue Pocket in Transparent Red. These things are awesome, and i also bought an Everdrive for both the Sg and Nt. But its ok though because you still have the ability to buy a Mister. That's what I'm interested in next more so to have an FPGA Option for Arcade Games. These FPGA Options are my End All Be All Offline solituons. 4/5 of my A1ups are Online Enabled, so only 1 set of games was so good that I didnt mind a classic offline option. Now i want a FPGA Option for my Offline Gaming and ill buy an A1up with Online play or a Release on Console with Onlin play to be able to have wn option that opens the door to playing many more players, and friends that i have made online that live throughout the country.

A 4K screen could be used to simulate CRT characteristics at a more refined level. For reference look at the screen on the Analogue Pocket: that screen is way, way higher res than any of the original systems it plays, but it has screen mods that perfectly duplicate the pixel patterns of the original Game Boy, Game Gear, Atari Lynx, Neo Geo Pocket, etc. and even has a screen mode designed to simulate the appearance of a Sony Trinitron CRT screen. You can do some really convincing scanlines on a 4K display.

I think it's cool that New Wave is eventually going to completely with A1UP... but there's a reason why A1UP uses a retail model, instead of direct to consumer. NW released the Golden Tee bundle, and people are already saying it's too expensive BEFORE shipping. But somehow, they are going to release 3/4, to fill size cabs... that are near perfect quality to what people want.. But at the same time be affordable and not cost a ton to ship? and most importantly, enough people will buy them to stay in business?

Rough year for sure. Not much to be excited about. At all. And remember, it’s much easier to replace a monitor in a gt xl than it is to change the form factor of the gt deluxe. Every video i see it wobbles around and people are slapping the screen. Worse release than xl for sure

Hope not. I wanted to mod a pacman XL but it disappeared. Hopefully they do a ms. Pacman xl. I want to mod that with a pc and emulators. Perfect size IMO. The deluxes are too small
