It's either Bassett Creek or minihaha Creek. Either way, both would be good spots because of how they flood and bend creating those sand bars.

I seen your forever vile on your video and I thought wow that was a good take for wherever you went. Not realizing that was probably after a few trips are ready. Have you checked any creeks running through the end moraines up there? Minnesota is too far away for me to research. I have looked into areas up there. I always thought Minnesota would really be good.

Have you ever read the history of gold prospecting on the cannon river? There was a gold rush back in the 1800's and there is still a decent amount to find.

If glaciers deposited gold into Minnesota's geologic nooks and crannies back in the day, then (thinking on a grand scale) might there be big chunks dropped up in the boundary waters and lakes regions? Like underwater? Would it make sense to dive for gold? Could the natural and limestone cave formations found in some places act as giant sluices? Thank you for your channel, interesting.

There is gold there but it’s not big gold so it’s probably not worth diving for. Not all gold deposits form big nuggets but there were and are producing gold mines in Ontario. At one time there was a gold rush around lake vermillion and rainy lake. It never produced much though.

Am I dumb or are your mats backwards? I would think you would want the spines of the divots to be receiving the flow of the water so that it rolls over them and creates vortices inside each divot, instead of running through the opening of the divots, then hitting the spine and just swirling horizontally

Another GREAT place is go find a gravel pit and ask for permission. They have done the hard work for you by digging deep. I have found really good gold in our area up here.

If there is enough to see randomly it’s probably mica or pyrite. But if you pan for it it’s pretty easy to identify the gold and black sand.

@GlacialGoldHunter Your video was so very accurate as to central MN, I have cheated by digging low pressure areas in front of concrete slabs dumped on the bed of the Mississippi, there the specks are about 3 to 5 times better than what you caught, yet only worth the fun of finding anything, lol. The Pike River up by Embarrass-Biwabick or more south with the Zumbro river and you will find more.
