A friend asked me today why the wicked and evil people make the laws we have to live under and have all the power. She wondered why more people like us (Christian conservatives) aren’t able to change what is happening to our nation. I reminded her that it is our own fault….a recent article stated that 25 million Christians DID NOT VOTE in the last election. What a difference they could have made if they had voted for conservative candidates. In a nation that was at the time dominated by Christians, ONE atheist woman (Madeleine Murray O’Hare) had prayer removed from our schools by a successful lawsuit. I wondered then, as I wonder now, where were the Christian voices when this was being done? Nine years after that, abortion was legalized in our nation. Where were the Christian voices then, as well? The answer is they were sitting at home not marching, not giving speeches, not protesting, and not voting. We were “the SILENT majority”.

My pic may be deceiving as it was taken when I was 19 in 1986. I’m 56 years old and as a brown skinned person (Born in America) I have a different experience than non-brown skinned people. But I don’t hate anyone for who they are, Only those who hate me for who I am. And those people should reconsider hating anyone simply for who they are. I think some people have decided America is becoming too brown. And the brown people are a threat because they too need jobs and living space. And there is a plan to combat the browning of America. That to me is racist, about 34% of Americans. I just wish we could all get along with each other despite our many differences. I grew up on MLK content of character and thought we were moving past black/white as americans then it seemed things took a turn culturally but I was younger and still kinda am so maybe I just couldn’t see the whole picture.
