Carole I’m completely floored, this room is the best room I’ve seen hands down in any of the chateau shows. Absolutely awesome!!!! If there was a restoration prize of the most immaculate room it would go to you and Adrian. Super praise for this intricate work.

The Rococo Salon is my favorite of any of the different chateau renovations I have seen. I am amused that after all the angst of finding the right wall paper, the third time is the charm. Reproducing the original paper was outrageously expensive, the second choice wasn't available, and I didn't care for either of them. The third choice is magnificent, and in perfect agreement with the style of the room. From now on, just go with your third choice to begin with. LOL

The salon is seriously stunning and the wallpaper is 100% beautiful, truly enhancing all your hard work on the moldings. Every moment of hard work has paid off in a huge way. It's magazine perfect! Hang in there it will be worth it! Love the powder room as well! I would say who ever ruined the wall should chip in on the repair. It certainly gave you a job you didn't need right now. Frustrating I am sure.

You've been concerned about the huge amount of time you've spent in that one room. But you are transforming a badly neglected area into an absolute showpiece. When visitors come to your chateau this room is likely the first they will see and you'll need to keep a mop handy because they will be drooling all over the place. The work takes time to create a masterpiece and this room is it.

Even I didn't realise how long this room would take, but all the intricate details make this the show of the chateau, it has to be right. Thank you chas

I read someone's comments about it being the best room in any of the chateau shows...I concur wholeheartedly! You both could give a masterclass on how to renovate. Glad you got a sink replacement, but crazy that the other one cracked. Shame about having to repair the stone walls sooner than what you planned, be nice if they would help out a bit. The salon is perfectly stunning! Fantastic restoration! It only took a hundred years.....I know you are feeling it has taken a hundred or two hundred years of your time. You must be ready to sit down with a drink and admire your work and marvel at how in the world, did I do all of this, but yes I did it one stroke at a time. Bravo! for your talent and determination! I have been wondering what project will you put your hands to work on next Carole? The stairs look amazing and like they are as good as new with patina undisturbed. The only downside to the whole room is the exposed radiators. If it was my project, I'd be considering making radiator covers. I've seen old houses with them and it does a great job of concealing them without hindering their function. Cheers to good progress. Looks fantastic

You & Adrian have such an awesome relationship! My husband & I went to France in 2017 for a wonderful 3 week vacation & fell in Love with France! We were planning on retiring shortly after we returned to the United States. We had talked about moving to France & also buying a chateau to fix up! Unfortunately my husband was diagnosed with 2 cancers & only survived 24 months from diagnosis to his passing! I just recently found you guys on KZbin & i am so happy I did!! To be honest, I have seen sinks like that one and felt them gaudy, fussy even. In THIS bathroom, it commands attention and is exquisite. Carole, it seems like forever ago that you were doing the bathroom!! I still love it. I am amazed that the two of you work so hard, sometimes I get tired just watching you!!!!LOL I am going to try and tackle my onsuite bathroom. I have to rip out the jetted tub, the tile floor, the toilet, the counter tops with sinks and faucets, two huge walled mirrors, then paint it, put in a new tub, free standing, new toilet, new floor, new counter and new sinks with new faucets. I am in the planning stage. It's been about 8 years!! I am going to do it though!!! You have given me mental strength!! I just wish you could come over and help me!!!!! I think if I just order the material I will get going!!!! Love from Wisconsin!!

That sounds like a big job, you could always order the new suite, put it in the middle of the lounge, so that you haveno choice but to get on with it!!!!! Or find a man that can!

Adrian ripper job with THE stairs I'm so happy you've kept the old ... my father in law built a whole Pioneer Village here consisting of home, pub ( inn) blacksmith shop, general store, post office etc back in the 1970s .... both be proud of how much you have achieved so far it's bloody hard work !!! My God that wallpaper is sexy! LOL. I know it's a ton of work but all that gold leafing is amazing. Perhaps to recoup your expenses on Gold Leaf you could contact wedding photographers and let them bring their couples in to have their photographs done in the salon. They be in and out quite quickly. The lamp beside you on the table is gorgeous. My goodness you have great taste. I thought Adrian was dressed up like Spider-Man when I first saw his red shirt! Cheers from Toronto

You wouldn't think that there was much more that you could do to enhance the wow factor you started to create in the salon, but watching this latest video proves there's always the exception to the rule. Well done Carole. I'm glad the replacement is ok, Adrian, hopefully you won't get that 'sinking' feeling again with this one! A bit of an unwelcome addition to your workload having to repair the wall. Surely as it was ok before and the workmen's equipment disturbed it they should help restore it. But I guess they wouldn't see it that way more's the pity. In the meantime, take care of yourselves. Best wishes.

I have never heard of a sink/basin that can't be used for hot water. The stairs look fantastic, love that you were able to salvage some of the original steps. Will you be filling the steps that have damage with resin or similar to prevent trip hazard? It would make the step stronger too and protect from future damage. Carole deserves a spa day (or two) the full works, massage, facial, hair, body wrap, manicure, pedicure and lots of champaign. All that over head work on the ceiling and walls is brutal on the arms, neck and back - Deep Respect!!
