I do the same thing as a side hustle. I wash them with Dawn dish soap, and a wash mitt. Once it's dry, I spray the whole mower and engine (every single inch of the machine) with tire wet and let it sit for 15 minutes. I wipe it down and re-apply. The mower comes out looking brand new every time. For a couple extra bucks combined with some really good photos, people fight over my mowers.

I have a la 130 also. The problem with not pulling is not the transmission, it is the front drive sheve, that'd what drives your transmission belt. John deere decided to save money and got the sheve from China. They use a softer steel and the belt will not sit in the sheve properly to pull like it should. To test this without pulling anything apart. Spray some belt dressing on drive belt. If it starts driving like it should, then you know that is the problem. Easy fix.

Worth what work ? All you have done is basic maintenance Most flippers do that and sand blast the mowing decks plus weld if necessary and sand blast the seat pans repaint them then buff and polish the hoods and replace the seats Buy new stickers Making the machines look nearly brand new and sell them quick for good money Here in Canada you can get 300 for that hood and 400 for the 48 deck So you basically got a free tractor for less than the price of a cheap date lol Peeps want something they dont need to work on and the rusty mowing deck and slipping trans was a turn off for many and those trans are easy to rebuild

Yes, I’m just not comfortable rebuilding transmissions like that. Honestly, this probably would have been a good mower to part out instead.
I own a LA 130 21 horse 48 inch cut. It's a 2007 model. I keep it clean by blowing the grass clippings off after each use. Grease the spindles twice a year. Even though they say the grease doesn't do anything. The rest of the fitting 3 times a years. Even the one under the front pulley! One switch under the bonnet. That let's the engine start broke. Watched a video on a jumper wire to bypass the switch. I don't recommend bypassing anything switch. Next is the one under the seat. Sometimes I have to move something or get off the mower. It's shuts off! I am old 62. It's frustrating when it shuts off or I jump it after a winter in the garage. I use my Stanley jumper box. Very handy to have. Don't put it on top of the motor where it spins or on the breather top. It will jam the plastic top so you can't get to the air breather. Ask me how I know! I use belt rejuvenate on the belts. Still have the same one from the factory. Don't forget to reset the valves after 200 hrs of service. Read the manual on how to do it. But, Most of all the steering gear wears down. I put grease on a small paint brush and grease it up. Yes, it's worn down. But the grease keeps it going. P.S. I put some liquid small engine carb fluid in my gas can to keep it running smooth. Buy the Oil change and tune up kit every two years. It comes in a John Deere green box. It cost about 70 dollars at the John Deere dealership or you can get it on line. That about raps it up. Still running after 13 years. Junk maybe but it's my junk! Good luck. Shawn.

I have a John Deere l130 that I bought new, it’s 20 years old now and still runs great, used only for homeowners use and maintenance done regularly on it. Always kept inside out of weather.

I always get a John Deere seat cover on Amazon when they look terrible . 15” high back for about $30-$40 makes a big diff when I take photos!

Hello I have a John Deere L130 that I bought used. It has a loose wire that I have no idea where it goes. Can you help if I send you a video ?
@garagestory5 ай бұрын
Does it start and run fine? Sometimes there are loose wires from the factory that don’t go anywhere.
@aidenjacobl5 ай бұрын
@@garagestory no it doesn’t start at all. I’m having to replace a few things because looks like tractor was left unused for a while and it’s full of dirt. I put a new battery new starter and it only keeps clicking so I just order a new brake safety switch , under the seat sensor and a new relay since they were all pretty dirty. Hopefully that will do it if that wire is not supposed to go anywhere.
@garagestory5 ай бұрын
It’s probably the starter solenoid. Is that what you were calling the relay?

Unfortunately the laws in Oklahoma are not very helpful for guys trying to side hustle and sell cars. Legally I can only sell 6 cars a year without a dealer license, and I can’t buy any vehicle for the purpose of selling at a profit without a dealer license.

Don't they have seat covers for yard machines? I haven't looked into it but it seems like it would be a good alternative for a trashed seat. Just a thought. Nice job on the Deere.
