Hey I found this video by accident last night on KZbin it was the homestead subdivision were a train was coming down the inactive part of the line back in 1996 you were the first one I thought of it's called Railroading in the Redlands part 1 and it's by agentadq as always awesome videos have a good one and they show the infamous Krome ave

At the moment, TriRail is focused on opening the connection to Brightline's Miami central station, and yes, there have been test runs. The Homestead extension is more so a wish list that hopefully may come true one day. Even so, it would be more likely to happen on the spur that goes by Tamiami airport around sw 137 ave. TriRail right now is looking for new rail cars and locomotives and focus on the downtown line. You might even see a local commuter service on FEC up to Aventura maybe even Broward. But these tracks that you see here have tremendous potential. You dont even have to spend that much money to reactivate it compared to building a new ROW somewhere else.

There is so much rust on these rails. I wonder if a rail grinder train would have to run down this line to remove the rust on the rails before any revenue train could move on the tracks.

It's nice to see those new clips on Virtual rail with the new passenger train zipping along but that project had money behind it and here if there is no money these rails will just keep getting rustier

South of Miami International Airport to Homestead and Krome Avenue rock pit as a branch off at Sterling Wye. The tracks South of SW 137th Ave are currently out of service.
