The thing about USB cables is, they have two little holes. On one side they are closed, on the other they are open. The side where they are open is the top, the other one is bottom. That way you hit it on your first try (except when you have to plug it in sideways)

yeah the big takeaway here is carl sayd it isnt meant to be played blind Poo has 100% for sure seen the level played. You can tell just from how he opened with the level. and with the bomb + thwamp

I think at the very least, Nintendo should give creators an option as to whether or not they want to open source their levels for people to edit. I personally like being able to open any level in the editor, but it's an understandable compromise.

On downloading/editing player levels.. They could just make it so any downloaded level can be opened in editor but not edited. Seems like such a simple fix compared to other issues they've addressed.

If you get to the final boss, you beat it. Just like getting to level 4 on NES Robocop is beating it. There are hundreds of"unbeatable" games but ypu are completely dismissing his point that all games and game types take practice. I.E. The only reason you "can't EVER do blah" is because you decided you can't and gave up.

Really great point about beating the super hard level that you run into first. Once I beat Carl's Getting Over It Level and Rowdy Roddy Pipers I have been able to beat the sub 1% clear rate levels far quicker than the time it took me to beat those two.

They should add a “Screenshot” feature that way a creator can choose to show how and off screen/load screen machine is set up. Protects creators who don’t want to see their work ripped off while allowing those who want to to show off their skills. Also, would let hard level makers make how to shots.

What you described about how removing the ability to edit other peoples levels also loses out on spreading cool tech is also likely a big part of the decision of why they removed it in the first place. One thing that spread in MM1 quite quickly through this was glitches/exploits, and stopping someone from seeing something broken, then downloading the level and using that same bug/exploit in their level creates a chain of broken levels that will become unbeatable as soon as Nintendo fixes the bug/exploit. Similar to how removing the superjump exploit made some levels unbeatable. Nintendo decided the positives of removing editing other players levels outweighed the negatives.

When you mentioned not knowing about any fan Zelda rom hacks, I'm not familiar with any either, but AM2R was an amazing Metroid fan game. But that took 10 years to make, and then Nintendo issued a take down order within about a week of the final release. So that's definitely a reason why we don't see more Zelda fan games, is they would just take an immense amount of time to make.
