You know how much this didn't make sense to me? On my second floor, the ending chest just spawned in a room... and it ended the run. I still have no idea what the hell happened from start to finish.

Can we take a second to appreciate just how much work the internal system of items/effects/combination/representation must have taken? Legit I don't think there is another game that can procedurally randomize itself to the point that the new Isaac can.

My personal guess is that it creates entirely new temporary items each time you find a new item. The effect of these items will somehow either copy the code from other items or simply run the functions that handle the effect of other items. Well, I have no clue how to do randomized function calls and while I know it is possible to change code on the fly it should be a pretty advanced technique. As someone with some basic programming experience I can confirm that, even if you knew the mechanics behind it, it would still take a lot of skill to actually implement.

There's just something so very entertaining about NL just constantly jumping between a coherent story or train of thought and "YOU'RE FLAT" or "YESSIR" as he presses space bar and every sprite in the room is turned 90 degrees and then picks up 90 bombs by standing still.

I'm a lifelong vegetarian and meat "substitutes" are just ingredients like anything else. They taste totally fine as their own thing. I mean some of them are processed to hell, but I kinda imagine it's like comparing like McDonald nuggets to home made nuggets. I don't have anything to compare it to, but I imagine a lot of it is about expectations.

This challenge was an interesting one, I beat it on the first try, BUT... at some point in time I picked up a passive glowing hourglass. It just seemingly randomly would go off every like.. 20 seconds maybe? My DPS was such that I couldn't beat a lot of chest rooms before it'd take me back, I had to attempt some rooms like 10 times. Of course I didn't lose HP from my failed attempts since it was glowing hourglass, but good god it was annoying almost being done with a room and 'do it again'.

When I clicked on this I was like “please please please be the DELETE THIS” challenge but i thought it was unlikely because i didn’t know he’d unlocked B-Eden, I am pogged out of my GOURD FOR THIS EP NL (My winning run was an item that just let me spam wait what shockwaves with no cooldown forever, my previous run was infinite tammy’s head + dull razor that spawned mega bombs but I ruined it by taking an item that gave me a wavy mushroom effect every room so I couldn’t see and died. This run is NUTS and it’s all in the actives you get honestly)

Since I guess we're talking winning DELETE THIS runs in these comments, my win *should've* been with a passive that activates Mega Mush (a broken-ass 12 room recharge active item you can only get by completing all the regular characters' hard mode completion marks that makes you invincible and deal basically infinite contact damage for 30 seconds which persists between rooms) literally every time I took damage... but then the game crashed after I tried to leave the Mom fight and I had to reset. So my actual winning run was a passive that caused me to spawn Fortune Telling Machine drops (I.E. Soul Hearts and Cards) occasionally whenever I shot tears (regardless of if it was actually hitting anything), as well as a passive that caused me to get Shoop Da Whoop almost every time I picked up a consumable. You know. Like a card. Or a Soul Heart. But I also had a Lil' Void familiar with me that ate consumables and spit out portals that go to a random part of the floor, and I accidentally stepped into one after beating the final boss, so I had to sit and grind until I got an Emperor card since I teleported to the boss the first time around (because in this challenge getting extra passives is always russian roulette). So that was stressful.

When I did this challenge, I got an item that turned every enemy in the room into coins, another item that took me to a room with an infinite amount of items, and then one more item that crashed my game when I got hit.

"If I wanted a chicken sandwich why would I not get actual chicken" because some people like chicken sandwiches but would prefer not eating actual chicken if given the choice. Plenty of reasons why. Plus, some people are actually vegetarian. It's nice to be able to enjoy "normal foods" and not be strictly tied to specialty vegetarian dishes only. Makes life easier, too. And you can still enjoy specialty veggie stuff. :^)

Literally my first run of this challenge I ended up getting unlimited mega blast a third of the way through. I'd use the full mega blast, then wait a few seconds for it to activate again, rinse and repeat until the end of the run. Took like fifteen minutes total. Feel like I dodged a major bullet seeing some of the other videos of this challenge.

A bit late to the party but I just finished this challenge(ps player, had to wait). Finally did it with an item that gave me mega blast every time I got a pick up. Just took a pill with me the whole way and dropped it every time the blast ran out. This challenge was infuriating but amazing at the same time. The possibilities of outcomes is insane!

I’ve seen a few people play this challenge now and I can’t wait until I unlock it. I haven’t even unlocked the alt path yet because I started with a new save file when Repentance came out. Felt like starting fresh instead of downloading a completed pre-Repentance save file since I hadn’t played since 2016.

I’m right there with you, on how you were then. I hundred percented this game as Rebirth many years ago, and now I have to start all over again because they didn’t put it out on the PS Vita and that is the platform I used before. I am using the Switch now. It’s going to take me forever to 100% this game again on Repentance this time. To be honest, it probably won’t be possible. At least before I had the PS cloud to cheese the Lost. I haven’t learned how you unlock this challenge yet. Lol.

something isn't vegetarian for simply having no meat when it's not an alternative version of the main dish doesn't have meat to begin with. It just is whatever it is. A carrot isn't vegetarian, specifically, a carrot is a carrot. Something specifically vegetarian is stuff like Morningstar and Quorn and whatnot.

Found an item on my 2nd try on the 3rd floor down that made Isaac giant and invincible passively. Nothing could hurt him. Enemies, troll bombs, etc. Just stomped all the enemies to death. Even fought Hush. 11/10 Ed

I got to the cathedral on this challenge once. The run ended in failure not because I died or anything, but because the big chest I needed to take me to the next floor got turned into a troll bomb and it was impossible to proceed. I exited to the menu and hit continue. The game crashed and had to roll back the save because it got corrupted. It rolled back to right before I attempted to continue, so I didn’t lose anything but the run.
