one of the best things about living in China/Asia is you can get alcohol from any corner stores/convinient shops but you don't have drunk cxnts chanting and wandering on streets in the middle of the night, which is so vastly different from most western cities

@@darkhalo153 actually as Chinese, i do not agree with this. Getting drunk on the street wont make you “lose face” at all. And this type of drunk guys can be easily spotted in Japan, at late night. Most chinese people like to drink with friends at the dining tables, so if they are drunk, they’d be drunk there and get taken care of by their companions, instead of just aimlessly wandering around on the streets.

Thank you so much for this. Chengdu is the city where my mother had her last year of horrah before marrying my Dad. I always thought of it as a place of a young woman’s independence. She has always told me it’s a verdant and relaxing places and indeed when I finally visited, I was happy and at peace. Would love to visit again and Mom will be so happy to see the city of her youth (we all have a place like that don’t we?) through your beautiful lens.

Its almost too chill, the drivers barely want to find the right spot they'll just leave you anywhere in the vague area lol, compared to Chongqing taxis who think they are in Need For Speed lol. I love Chengdu though, best city for hip hop in China. We partied so much I lost some brain function hahaha. Flat and easy to navigate unlike CQ. But on the flipside, CQ's scenery is much more astonishing and beautiful.... But man I get MAD trying to find GPS markers there. God I miss Sichuan so much, your videos are well made, a good balance of landscape and yourselves talking, casual, conversational and not generic location choices. Helps me stay connected with some of the best days of my life.

Of all the cities in China, I love Chengdu, like, a lot. Wuhou Shrine is nice, but the shrines and gardens in Suzhou are next level. Wait till you get to Suzhou 😀

Bike rental is super cheap on various apps. I’m not sure how it works if you don’t live in China and have a Chinese back account but if you do then it’s only like 20p a ride.

agree, don't get trapped by the fancy looking western food places - many of them change the way how the food is cooked and served in order to accommodate Chinese people's taste buds and their special "needs" for a "good looking" meal experience. Drink is no exception - for example, many cafes make weird coffee drinks by adding way too many things into a coffee - pretty much like how a bubble tea/milk tea is made. Anyway, just a personal thought - I'm not saying ALL those food places are like that by the way. Enjoy ur local adventure in whichever city you go to, and of course embrace the local food which is worth your time :)

It's really easy in China for ehailing and taxis. It depends on what you do. If you go to tea houses and eat local noodles it would be less than ¥50 but if you go to tourist sites then it would be more. Chengdu is quite reasonably priced though.
