i like the symbolisim in this game, how the first two (weakest) bishops are inflated, convinced they will kill the lamb, but the second half (strongest bishops) are aware of the threat the lamb poses. its cool

Shamura and kallamar have generally stronger characters. The double meaning of it all is very cool. As it goes on, they become less aggressive towards the lamb. Leshy is very verbally aggressive. Heket is still intimidating without having to yell. But kallamar is scared of the lamb and throws weak empty threats. And shamura seems to take pity on us, with a smidge of sympathy and affection if you go back and read everything. Showing perhaps the varying levels of closeness to TOWW (their brother). Shamura is also indifferent because of the prophecy. They know no matter what, they will die. But they will still try to fight us in the name of their kin and their legacy. Symbolism is the heart of this game. Makes for a better experience and story.

@@pillowmoment How the story is laid out plays so beautifully too for the 4 Bishops and the Rescued Followers. In order, Lamb fights Leshy, Heket, Kallamar, Shamura, then TOWW. Leshy represents Conquest, Conquering the Spoils of personal sacrifices, Devotion, and resources from his Darkwoods. Heket represents Famine where the Lamb has to harvest crops and catch fish to keep the Lamb's Followers Sated and maintain Devotion. Kallamar represents Pestilence where Lamb spends funds to Care for the Sick and Elderly. Shamura represents War where people turn against each other in favor of power, belief, or resources. Neither the Lamb nor Shamura will back down, so they must press onward as it must be. Finally, TOWW is the End to All Things: Death. How Death is represented is entirely up to you as the Player. You could choose to replace TOWW by being The Taker of Life, reaping those for your own volition, or instead be The Mortal's Savior. The Followers have been kidnapped from their own villages because of the Bishop's Crusade. They have starved, fall ill, and were played out as pawns of war. In their life they have suffered, but you (Death itself) can remedy that to where they can live a full life and die by the natural time limit. Death can be a scary or comforting thing (like the game itself) and it's by the player's investment to choose who the New God of Death is.

Dude, the symbolism is even BETTER with TOWW. In his boss fight, he demands that you submit to him, that if you don't, he will kill you over and over and over again. Yet, ironically, he is (in my experience) the weakest boss fight. His arrogance is his downfall

tip for silk cradle: common bug where you get soft locked in a follower room because of an unkilliable enemy. Best have omnipresence ready.

Hey Therm! I beat Kallamar recently. A tip I would have appreciated is to play it safe in the first half--only hit once or twice, especially if you have a slower weapon. When the second phase starts, STAY NEAR THE EDGE so you have more time to dodge, and REFLECT THE BOMB ENEMIES at Kallamar, which often does more damage than your own weapons. Good luck!

For some reason The first boss in cult of the lamb took me like 4 tries, the second one took me 2 (I think) but the third the fourth ones only took me one try. I had the hammer for both of them and just played it extremely safe. Also the curse that shoots multiple projectiles and homes on the enemy is actually really really powerful.

Hi Therm! After switching a weapon/curse, you can press R on the weapon/curse you discarded for 1 coin Kinda negligible in the long run, but you might want that anyway

All you need is a rainbow speed tarot card. That thing makes you practically unkillable. I got it 2 rooms before Kallamar and beat him within 34 seconds. No joke.

Heyya, I just recently found out your channel and I love what you're making! Cult of the Lamb is one of my favourite games, so I hope that you're gonna continue this series! One thing I noticed though, is that you took a doctrine that allows you to appoint a loyalty enforcer, which would help keep your loyalty high. Don't forget to appoint one! And for the deaths, don't forget to explore the life and death doctrine, some of them will be able to help with the loyalty drops regarding the deaths!

This boss fight left me in tears. After I killed him I was trying to breathe because I was holding my breath the whole time he was spamming bullets. One of his tiny little stupid spore minions killed me. I “lost” the fight even though I beat him

Luck into divine protection curse and then just go ham with Golden fleece buffed weapon. That's how I did it.

I got that achievement recently - I did it by literally going all in on buffing projectile curses (hounds of fate is my favorite for non-melee but I also like touch of the revenant and point of corruption too) - so using the glass cannon fleece, summoning vosegus, fishing for all the curse buff cards during the run (most importantly getting the extra fervour drops + reduced fervour consumption combo), and if you set it up right you may not even need to melee at all, which will definitely help you avoid damage and mitigate the downsides of the glass cannon fleece. Hope this helps!

Kallamar ranks 2 on my tier list of the bishops. Shamura is ofc on top. But kallamar leaves an interesting impression. His cowardly demeanor but willingness to fight shows that he cares strongly for his followers and his name. Perhaps not his kin, since it’s implied his relationship with TOWW (his brother) is the worst out of all his siblings. He’s not close to them either. He attempts to sell shamura out, interrupts Heket when she tries to gently explain the situation to their weary elder sibling (still shamura) and breaks the news in a harsher manner. But he has clear obedience to his siblings. (Quote: “yes, sister! Of course, sister!” To heket after she informs him they will leave shamura be, her message appears as though she’s trying to intimidate her older brother: “won’t we, Kallamar?” this phrase is normally used in a condescending manner, and that’s how it’s read.) He has obvious strain with them. While heket refers to leshy as “dear brother” and mutual respect is between them, she does not hold the same respect for her elder brother. While speaking to him another time, she tells him to “deal with it” and he does not respond, whilst leshy responds politely, not as if she was ordering him (“as you command, my sister” he is calm, again showing respect, not obedience) He does not acknowledge his sister’s death, either. As Heket does when leshy is slain before her battle, or as Shamura warns of before kallamar’s battle. All these characters have so much to be discovered if you just go looking for it

for gauntlet combos you don't actually need to land all of your hits for the damage to go up, you can atk twice far from the enemy then roll to it and atk for max damage with lower chance of getting hit in the process :) makes it easier if you get hit often while trying to do combos
