You really need to watch the making of their recent album Evergreen. It shows how they all mesh not only as performers but as friends. Everyone of them has equal say and they encourage each other. Idk that they make the sounds with Kevin on the albums. He directs them with that. It'll give you a deeper look into their music.

The original, yes it was Maggie in 92. The dance remake that PTX was referencing more than likely was the version Cascada did in 05.

Kirstin really is gorgeous here - going back to her Latina roots with this style. But they all look sharp in this video - props to Candice Lambert, their stylist. I think the bell tones you talk about are called arpeggios. Single notes in a pattern up and down in the scale of whatever key the song is in. In the 90s I was raising kids so I wasn't out dancing but some of this music is familiar.

I've always heard it pronounced ZY-la-phone. Hahaha! When "Gonna Make You Sweat/Everybody Dance now" was popular, my son was about 2 or 3 and used to go around the house singing "Evybody Pants Down." Yes luv! That was Cher's "Believe". Notice the slight artistic use of autotune on that part as an homage to her as she made it cool to use. They each also took a verse minus Kev. It's pretty neat to see them come full circle because there was an episode on their Sing Off journey where they were going to do Believe but didn't feel they had it right. The perfectionists they are they had to get it right lol! Love them for it! You should really check out that journey it's an amazing way to see the "birth" of Pentatonix. And where they truly come from. It gives a whole new appreciation of their extremely hard work ethic & the amount of amazing talent in their work they have given us over the decade since.
