The only comfort I get from watching you climb dangerous mountains is that you posted the video, so I know you survived. I have a fear of heights. Love watching you access places I will never see. Thanks.

I love this too. But I'm old, and I have to say I'm glad I dozed off before whatever parts were life-threatening. I couldn't take watching scary stuff right now. I'm not afraid to die. Just don't wanna watch a young guy almost die. And I'd rather not die by falling.
@@jago76 I also have a fear of heights and even get that weird scared feeling when I watch videos of people pointing the camera down from precariously high vantage points. Oddly, my fears have not kept me from hiking up and over mountain passes on sketchy (to me) narrow trails. I never go alone though.

My favorite part is when you didn't fall and die. My least favorite part was worrying you were going to fall and die. Thank you for the adventure today and for the past 5 or so years I've been watching. Keep up the good work.

You are a brave soul, Tristan. No people, true climbing , breathtaking scenery, rugged landscapes with remarkable drone footage & camera work make SUVRVing the channel to subscribe to. Simply amazing. Seriously, is it harder to ascend or descend from a mountain top like that one ? I think I would be dreading climbing down. 👍🏻🙋🏼♀️

I would agree with the dread of climbing down. How do you find a foothold when your body is clinging to the rocks?
@SUVRVing11 ай бұрын
It's both harder and easier in different ways. It's easier going down in the sense that you know what to expect. But it's harder going down because it's just more awkward to climb down. Thanks for watching!

Free Soloing in remote locations is not to be taken lightly. The temptation to continue upwards can sometimes overpower our ability to down climb. Excellent video! Amazing location, very much enjoyed it.

I thought that was kind of foolhardy with no rope for going down. I climbed all through the 70s until my daughter was born, then toned it down to safer routes as there were people who needed me. Took my daughter on the JMT and we climbed Mt. Banner together. She wanted to do Mt. Ritter and I said it is a bit too technical for an 8 year old girl. She was bothered more by the damned mosquitos than the heights.

I'm writing this from my homebuilt RV, boondocking in the Mojave Desert in California. I'm 67, not a climber, but I have done a lot of solo hiking. I have also gone up cliffs that I then found terrifying to climb back down. I'd love to do a climb like that with some protection. It looks like going up would be easy enough, but coming down would be the spooky part for me. Nice job and narration. Thanks for posting!

What a fabulous adventure! Earlier today my wife and I watched the movie, Twister, for the umpteenth time and one of my favorite scenes is where Philip Seymour Hoffman drops to oe knee to sake the hand and pay extreme homage to his friend/mentor Bill Pullman. Hoffman takes Pullman’s hand to give it a shake and softly utters, “now a manly handshake ensues…”. In my mind it demonstrates “ultimate respect” and Brother Tristan, I drop down to one knee and figuratively shake your hand! After a lifetime in the military, I understand “respect” and as someone who spent a couple of decades doing my fair share of non-technical mountaineering in Hawaii, Northern California, Colorado, Virginia, Japan, Alaska and numerous areas throughout New England, I’m gushing some respect right now. I’m not certain if I’d made the summit, especially in a solo effort. Kudos and Atta-A-Boy’s and a tip of the ol’ Stetson hat. Maybe you need to get a T-Shirt that begs the question, “Got Adventure?” “Ol’ Scooter”, down in East Texas!

What you found on the summit was clearly some kind of time capsule. Maybe dedicated to a marriage on a specific day, family members that died on a certain day, something like that. Would be interesting to know exactly what the time capsule was commemorating. Now that people know it's up there it would be really good vibes if someone went up there with a new waterproof capsule, dried out the contents in the sun, and repacked them. Clearly that capsule meant a lot to someone at some point in the past.
