i had to do something similar the other week. it was a large pallet inside a shipping container that was almost as large as the inside of the container and weighed 3 tonnes. Our fork is only rated at 2 tonnes. I wanted to get a bigger fork, but I'm not the boss. So we borrowed a shipping container ramp from the warehouse next door and with tine slippers we lifted the end and dragged about half way out until the the rear wheels of the fork was a foot off the ground. Had to drive it in a bit to get the wheels back on the ground. We bent the slippers. then we borrowed another fork and one on each side of the pallet like you were when you first lifted it off the truck, we used the fork's side shift to move it fully out of the container 10 inches at a time. lift, shift, down, lift, shift, down, etc Then one in reverse and one in forward drove it into the warehouse.

Instead of loading the pallet from the trailer, the trailer could not be backed 90 ° on the building outside the gate and the pallet could be pulled in with a forklift
@callthemall
@callthemall 4 ай бұрын
Maybe, but there was no forklift inside the building

@@callthemall just thinking of a different way, not a better way than yours. if the dock height closely matched the truck bed height, rotate the create 90 degrees and put it back on the truck so the ends are hanging out both sides, move the truck so the end of the create is a foot from the dock and then push it in from the outside. might have to push it in, say, 2 feet and then lift it so the truck can drive out. even if that would work, there was a lot of junk near the building that would need to be moved so the truck could get close. just thinking of a different way, not a better way.

@callthemall I would of backed the tilt tray straight up to dock and used the 2 pallet jacks straight away off the tilt tray, if tray to low then back it up on blocks of wood as you know, it just didn't look that heavy in the end..all good, great work mate, cheers

I’d have raised it high enough to get it above the wheels then sucked the fork carriage back enough where the tires of both moffets were in the middle that would let it spin more easily

Since I'm not familiar with moffett's and their lift capacities I don't see another way to have done it any better. I'm assuming moffett's are on the lighter side since they need to be able to side load on empty trailers.

@callthemall Thanks! I've been wondering for quite some time what that did! I was just reading through more of the comments, and the one that really caught my eye was the one about how calm and composed you are. I've been watching the channel for a little over two years now, and all throughout your videos, I've always been so impressed by how much of a genuine guy you are, and just how much professionalism you show both when dealing with people, and even when you are alone, just driving down the road to another delivery. You clearly are an expert when it comes to trucking (and Moffeting [now a real word] too as shown in the video!), but you never let this make you even the slightest bit arrogant. You may not notice it, but people look up to you as a leader because of it, just like how the other Moffet driver and the customer did in the video. It may be a stereotype that all of us Canadians are polite, and I do wish that it were true, but it's people like you that we should all be trying to act like in our lives. Even the small things, like how you always wave to other trucks passing by, to the fact that never have I heard you swear in any of your videos (even if there were plenty of stressful, infuriating, and all-around swear-worthy moments) contribute to making you such a great guy. I wish you all the best this coming fall and winter, and look forward to seeing all of the trucking action from all the way over here in Edmonton.

The intermittent beeping is reversing, though it's mostly not working on the moffett. The constant buzz when I flip the switch is axle lock so all 3 wheels spin but you can't turn

Hello Matt you should have picked me up I have 35 years experience with driving forklift I would have got it done with one forklift picked it up from the side and pulled the forklift right against the wall and with the hydraulics pushed it in the dock it would have taken 10 minutes for me how heavy was the crate and how heavy was the crate and how much can the Moffat lift I was watching this video. It still was a good video Matt have great weekend here from Ontario Canada ❤️❤️❤️❤️🇨🇦🇨🇦😎
