My moms gonna be 42 this year and I’m turning 19, I have autism too, ive been watching your videos of Abbie since I was 12, I like watching your videos, you guys actually treat her respectfully like you would others, it’s sad that a lot of people with autism or other disabilities, are treated not nicely because people don’t see them as “normal”, one teacher said to the class before “look it’s the non-human” when I walked in, I didn’t know what he meant and explained I was human and he laughed.

I did it for a month before I got into a car accident and now awaiting surgery on my neck 😢 but can’t wait to get back to my clients ❤ also losing my son at 23 who I dedicated my life to was an inspiration to help other autistic children ❤

Asa, we also do that winter protest here in Northern Ontario, Canada! It always takes that first few weeks of real winter setting in (17F or lower) for us to properly transition and accept that winter is in fact here lol

Temple Grandin doesn’t care for physical touch so she invented a squeeze machine to help her calm down. She modeled it after the squeeze machine on her uncle’s farm, which was used to hold cattle while they were inoculated (I think).

How long/hard was it for Abbs to get her communication tablet? We just got to test play with one through one of our therapists but they won’t let him keep it to learn it. He has to learn it when she comes once a week with it, he did so well with it, swiping and clicking on the images. He’s 2 has nonverbal autism with developmental delays with a few other issues. We just seem to get the run around with drs, so the tablet would at least let him tell his when he’s in pain.

I am 51, and as a woman, the 40s are the last decade (for a woman) before things start hurting. I used to train horses in my youth so maybe my body started hurting in my 50s because of my very active past. Everyone is different I guess, but Priscilla is still a young woman in her 40s. After turning 50, women change a lot in that decade.
