I got one of these last week. I really like it. I set it up like you, with the controllers to the right and the Q3 to the left facing me. I think it looks really minimal and neat. With the headset facing me it also keeps my lenses from accidental sunlight exposure. I have been looking at a few different charging docks and this one works with my maecker minimal knuckle grips which are similar to the meta active grips.

glad to hear i wasn't the only one who thought the original placement wasn't the best! I wonder why they advertise it like that. Also testing grips would've been a good move (I actually don't own any). How do you like Maecker? Thanks for watching!

They are a blatant copy of the Meta active grips. The straps are soft and slightly elasticated. They are super minmal, get the job done and only cost 15 bucks. I don't like the silicone sleeve type grips that cover the whole controller.

lol, OMG I just look at those grips (maecker) and they're literally like you said a blatant copy of the active straps (down the to design of the velcro tabs and metal clasp); lol. That said, I got a couple Quest3 for my fam as Xmas presents, so I'll get them these straps instead. I really like the official Active Straps, so hopefully these are nearly as good.
