Pokémon Inclement Emerald is an advanced difficulty catch-em-all romhack of Pokémon Emerald created by Buffel Saft
Normal Nuzlocke Ruleset:
1. Fainting = Death
2. Can only catch the first Pokémon I find on each Route.
3. Nickname Pokémon
Hardcore Nuzlocke Ruleset:
4. No items in battle (held items okay)
5. No leveling past the next gym leader/E4 (at the START of the battle)
6. Play on "Set" battle mode

You probably already know this by now but items in gen 3 don’t get activated until everyone’s turn is done. That’s why Ninetatles attacked before your Sitrus berry activated at 11:20

In emerald base game- items and status are used at end of turn, there’s also scenarios in which you / enemy can take damage on a switch in after KO. In gen 4 they made the KO and the turn

For anyone unaware, Magcargo is an absolutely fantastic Pokemon in this hack. While it keeps its abysmal typing, it has access to both Simple and Shell Smash. It also has access to Solar Beam, Earth Power, Power Gem, and Flamethrower. Fire/Ground/Rock is a pretty good combo generally, but I swept both Winona and Norman with Magcargo's setup strats. Its only weakness is priority moves, making Talonflame its primary enemy in the metagame. But largely, it can OHKO if it hits at least neutrally after a doubled Shell Smash.

I went into that double battle with a team of 6 to get surprised with “choose 3” and so,show managed to come out unharmed that ninetails put 2/3 to sleep and I had a lucky wake up to ice fang the shiftry

Ah yes, the battle that made me lose like 50% of my trials when nuzlocking this game. At least in previous version, weather was infinite (with a nerf for boosted types being 20 instead of 50%) and there's no Sleep Clause, making that Ninetales super nasty. Also, the rival's AI is nothing amazing. Truly a nuzlocke-ending monster.

Yup I lost a few mons in that battle too lol. I just beat her with a Wailord, a Togekiss and a Gastrodon tho. It was pretty scary still. I brought Wailord mainly cause it's slower than Ninetales so its Drizzle ability activates after Drought or whatever it has.

Love the content man. One question: when you're using RCs, how do you avoid overleveling? I'd like to just use them to go to the next level cap after beating a gym, but there's obviously fights along the way.

In inclement emerald you literally can't over level as long as you activated the level cap option. If a pokemon is at the level cap it'll only get 1 exp per ko until you unlock the next cap.

Recently started using RCs myself, usually I'll just wait until I reach a gym leader to reach the level cap, but afterwards I'll use a few to at least boost myself closer to the next cap. Like if there's a 5 level difference between leaders I might use 2 candies after the battle depending on if I gained levels during the fight or not. It can be hard to get it exact so I wouldn't worry too much if you accidentally get like 1 level over the cap.

It's honestly a real skill in hardcore nuzlockes of hard rom hacks to keep your Pokémon under the level cap while keeping them high enough to beat the trainers between the gym leaders (in other rom hacks at least that don't have a level cap option built in) Like you might legit have to pivot around Pokémon mid battle in order to avoid gaining too much EXP on a certain one

I think the levels scale to the level of your party
