I want to create my own beat em up game: a mix-up of Streets of Rage and Suicide Squad. This game will be called “Black Street Warriors”. Plot: a criminal syndicate became a major threat to the world, so the government decides to create a special squad, called “Black Street Warriors” and directed by a former general Liam Burst. He selected numerous criminals and tested them, killing most of candidates. The only three survivors were recruited - they are the main playable characters. - Queen Coco - a dominatrix who once had an empire of slaves. She’s based on many enemy characters from other beat ‘em up games (Poison from Final Fight, Nora from Streets of Rage, etc), so she’s some kind of a poster girl. She uses her whip as her main weapon. - Midori Shiota - a Japanese school girl, maniac obsessed with human nails. She always takes her knife with her. - Poltergeist - a young boy in hood with long sleeves and a mask. He serves out his mother’s life sentence, as she died in childbirth. During the battle he uses various grenades and hidden weapons. Although this game has side-scrolling camera, the area is free to explore. There are no “levels” - this game is the entire level with many ways and paths. However, this game has a time limit - after time runs out, the leader of syndicate will disappear, which means instant game over. There are two secret characters: - Liam Burst - former general, creator and leader of “Black Street Warriors”. He is based on Heidern from King of Fighters. - Gabe - a man, who joins the squad to help them stop the syndicate. The true ending is available only after unlocking all characters. Only one, secret path leads to the true ending and battle with the main antagonist. After the battle boss will fall from his window. Black Street Warriors and Burst leave the scene, but Gabe stays. It’s revealed that he’s actually the Boss’s son Gabriel, who joined Black Street Warriors only to overthrow his own father and take his crime empire for himself, preparing for the sequel.

on the subject of mother Russia bleeds I personally played that game from beginning to end and it was a pretty deep beat em up with a final boss that was both a narratively impactful fight and the only time that you could change the ending of the game. not only that but the final boss had a bit of undertale vibe fight as "addiction" was both the hardest thing to beat in MRB but also you have to self handicap yourself to not use the "healing" items as it was what created "addiction". mother russia bleed is more than just 6.5 out 10 everyone gave it as it's story deep and plays like butter.

Ever since refunding Mighty Morbin Power Rangers: Rita's Revenge, I've been enjoying many of these beat 'em up revival games, as well as quite a few of the classics. At the top of my list lately has been Final Vendetta, which sadly took a back burner to TMNT: Shredder's Revenge for me until recently. Final Vendetta is the perfect length to complete in a sitting, has a wonderfully upbeat soundtrack that includes Utah Saints (from the 1995 Mortal Kombat film soundtrack!) and feels like a great mix of the mechanics of Final Fight 2 and the attitude of Streets of Rage 2. Everything about it just feels good to play.

Fight'n Rage is an excellent game. I've owned it on both Steam and Switch. I also cannot beat the final boss by myself, I need at least one other player to help. It deserves a sequel, since they hint at someone else being in power behind the Boss. Anybody on here play the Kaiju beat em up, Dawn of the Monsters?

I dont hate Streets of Rage 4 but the fact that Sega couldnt even make it themselves and had to outsource it to a foreign company rubs me the wrong way and shows how lazy and pathetic they are and they just dont care anymore about their IPs.
