I don’t do much video work/play, but I do a lot of still photography. It can be used for that also right because the LCD on the back of a camera is usually so small

Absolutely, works great like that

Very nice for the price, this monitor has been updated now and is now the v3 model, has usb c, can be powered by a power bank now as well which is really useful because Amazon doesn’t ship batteries to the Republic of Ireland that will have to do for now while I look for other places to buy batteries

What part you use on the monitor? 11:16
@kimfarrelly Жыл бұрын
The bit I’m screwing in is the 1/4 20 mount, it’s a separate part to the monitor, included in the box, and one of the few things I disliked as it feels like a weak point although still not broken

Nice screen with lots of cool features, unfortunately it only works when im not recording, when i hit the record button, i get a black screen that reads “recording in progress” . Im using a Lumix G7
@kimfarrelly2 жыл бұрын
That’s a limit of the G7, it won’t support HDMI out when recording in camera for whatever reason. GH5 allows HDMI monitoring so I guess like Fuji, Sony, Canon and the rest the lower range models get a little crippled

Great video Kim, I would ask, 1) does this monitor support the Sony NP-FV100 battery? 2) can I charge the battery through the monitor or I have to buy an extra charger? Thank you for your answer. Larry
@kimfarrelly3 жыл бұрын
The Monitor can fit F970 or E6 battery mounts, don't know if the V series Sony batteries will fit. You can power the monitor via it's 12V input though fro a battery as I show in this vid. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rpbaiXaAjJ13iK8 There is 4 - 5V out to the pins when the monitor is powered from it's 12V input but I doubt that'll give enough to charge a battery so you'll need to get a seperate charger, you can get a kit with a couple of batteries and charger for $€30-40. As the monitor is only 8-9W then a medium battery like an NP-F750 will last 4-5 hours. You can also have a battery on the monitor and power it from an external battery giving more run time as needed.

Can this be used for photography or is it just for videos?
@kimfarrelly Жыл бұрын
Sure you can use it for photography, you'd have a much bigger screen then on the camera. I've used it a bit for doing top down images, so I can easily see the composition when the camera is in an awkward place.
@xGrimWolfx Жыл бұрын
That's great thanks for reply, yea not all cameras have an angle type of display. Pretty much that's an upgrade later on... but to at least have somewhat of the same feature without compromising how one twist their bodies for photos or recording is a win. Awesome video dude!

@Kelly, sir may sound like a silly question but I just picked this monitor up and was wondering if I am able to load my Lightroom presets into this monitor for photography. I understand the LUTz functionality for video on this monitor and was just wondering if this holds true for photography as well. If you could help or someone that would bw appreciated 👍 thanks

I had a question I was hoping you might be able to help with. Do you know if it's possible to output the image from a computer (in my case a MacBook pro) to this monitor or does it only work with cameras? My use case is for a church environment where the pastor wants to see their keynote presentation at the podium they're using. Using a Wi-Fi solution (where you can connect an iPad to the laptop and see a copy of the keynote presentation on the iPad), has been spotty for us, and so I'm looking at a cabled solution to use as a backup in case the Wi-Fi solution we're using fails. Thanks for the video demonstration also. This looks really interesting and would be a nice size to fit on the podium if it ends up being a viable option.
@kimfarrelly2 жыл бұрын
Yes that would work, the Mac should set the correct resolution once you connect the monitor. You can adjust all that in the display settings on your Mac if needed.

Is it possible to have this monitor on while my Canon 90D monitor is on at the same time? I used this monitor, and my camera monitor turned off while I was using it.
@kimfarrelly Жыл бұрын
I believe that is one of the limitations of the 90D.

@@kimfarrelly So it’s no way I can fix that?
@keonnathomas1349 Жыл бұрын
@@kimfarrelly One more question, so it won't work because of my camera or because of the monitor?
@kimfarrelly Жыл бұрын
As far as I know it a camera limitation, but it’s been a while since I shot anything Canon. Try hooking the camera up to your TV as that’s just a big version of a monitor and see if anything is diffident, your can also connect a game console or computer or even your TV set top box to the little monitor

Does this monitor have in built speakers to hear playback or must you use headphones?
@kimfarrelly2 жыл бұрын
You’ll need to use headphones, there are no internal speakers.

I’ve got to find a monitor with speakers then. Thank you 😊

Question, beginner here😢. I noticed on my Feelworld monitor that the color and image settings are very different from the camera monitor. Do I have to upload a list to fix this? I think I’ve tried to adjust on the monitor but can’t get anywhere close to the camera monitor. Thanks in advance
@kimfarrelly Жыл бұрын
You’d be best using a colour checker to adjust and also see what your camera is outputting over its HDMI as it might be colouring the feed. On the new version you can load up luts
