Hey Pablo! You just need DGVoodoo 2 to run the game, it's easy to set up and then the game works 100% with Windows 10. There are good instructions in the home page: www.championshipsoccer.net

Oh this sounds absolutely amazing, this sounds like what I've been after with a career mode. Ted, did you ever check out New Star Soccer on phones/PC? it's the same general idea, but I don't know if you can get NSS2010 vs the modern phone centric one, you get to make your own player with much the same setup however so I'm not sure how much mileage you'd get out of it since I don't remember if you can get the older games. Shout out to New Star GP, arcade not quite 2009 F1 at its funnest, and New Star Tennis is oddly addicting and insanely good too. Starting the game takes time.time. I have three SSD. How slow can it be...

Hey Jace! I indeed checked out New Star Soccer back in the days. If I remember correctly the PC version was too easy, my player became a superstar very quickly. On the phone I used to play it as well but it got too grindy when they introduced all the micro payments. You'd have spend hours upon hours to bet on horses or something to buy new shoes (if you didn't want to use real money). Not my cup of tea. Did you remember the DGVoodoo thing? Makes the game a lot faster, although it's still quite slow to start up.

Oh and I've tried New Star GP as well. For me it was buggy as hell, crashed constantly. Don't know if there's a way around that.

I need to sit down and get dgvoodoo working under WINE actually, I had the game running without it and was running into strangeness. I'm not sure how easy dgvoodoo is to get running undr WINE though, I'll poke at that and see how that goes, my other alternative is to spin up a WinXP/7 VM and use that for old games, minus the interwebs and just do a bit of shared folder trickery really. I hate that New Star Soccer went all microtransaction heavy, I remember NSS3/2010 being quite good for what they were back in the day, NSS3 ws similar enough to this one though, I wonder how much inspiration Simon took from CSP to make NSS3/2010 though, it seems to me like the newest phone/web one is a whole other game just using the same name thugh. As for NSGP, I never had issues with it crashing but that was back in the Win7 days when it had just come out so I'm fairly sure if I tried it now on a Win10 VM it'd just break horribly, I think I still got my key somewhere so can give it a shot under WINE. I'm thoroughly enjoying this video and think I got the Bang family tree straightened out. I'm just imagining in my head canon all your other saves on this universe are the MacBang offspring/cousins/relatives and so forth.

Are you playing with Windows 10 or Windows 11? I haven't tried with Windows 11 but I've heard there are some problems with older games. I don't know if I can help but you can also ask help on the Discord server (link is in the video description).

Yeah, for some reason the default databases only have one division for France. However it's easy to add as many divisions / teams as you want, just by editing text files. The game is very moddable in that sense.

Offensive midfielder, if he's worse than Ali Dya or Carlos Kaiser he really will be offensive, indeed.

This is why Dougal started his career in Belgium, he is too intimidated to face the brutality of Scottish fans. Would be too much for his young and innocent mind. Perhaps some day he shall play on the fields of his ancestors.

Managed to get this to work on my Linux with Lutris and dgVoodoo2. I was wondering ... I don't seem to have these belgian lower leagues. Does this depend on the license or can I download those somewhere?

Ahh, very cool. I used to use Linux for years but always had difficulties running this game on Vine, glad to hear it works! The lower leagues should be there but you'll have to activate them when starting a new save. On default it usually only has the top divisions activated.

@@TedMeat Thanks. I use Lutris to run the game. I did have to install dgVoodoo2 seperately and run the UI to create a config file then copy that file over to the dgvoodoo2 config file used by Lutris. After that it works great.

There were some mods back in the days when the game used to have a forum, but I don't know if any of them have preserved. You can edit just about everything in text files though. You can also join the games discord and ask there: discord.gg/uTgCam7yDA It was just newly re-activated because we figured out a way to get the game running on modern PCs with DGVoodoo so the community is still kinda re-activating.
