Been using one for the last 2 years. Been a Zoom fan since the 505 and 1010 series. My favorite part is being able to assign the foot switches to their own effects like separate effects pedals. Much better for using live than most budget multi effects pedal that only scroll up or down patches. Also, many stores descriptions (Sweetwater) will say there's only 5 amp's and 5 cab's, but there's actually 16 of each! 🤷‍♂️

Have been using the G3Xn for about 2 years. It was a replacement for a PodXT3 Live that I loved that shit the bed one day. It was only meant to be a temporary replacement. Still playing it...still haven't purchased a new Line6 anything. So...there you have it.

I loved my Digitech GNX4, but blew through two of them. They were 500 bills new. This unit looks like a good replacement. I will keep an eye on your reviews. It sounds good so far. Digitech quit their support for GNX4 patches. Fender quit their support for patches for Mustang lll v2. I’m wondering about the ZOOM support. How long have they been running?

How much time is on the looper ? I play live with 3 different bands and I want to find a small board with a built in looper. Is there Octave or simulated Bass sounds . And how can the presets be placed in the order that they are used. When I'm on stage I like to be able to go from patch to another with out a lot of searching. Have a great week . Great video.

Hey man thanks for the kind words. Sadly, unlike the older ZOOM units, the G3Xn can’t be used as an interface. I think that’s very dumb; they absolutely should have made it capable of being an interface.

I would definitely go with the G5n because it’s a much better developed unit than the gt100. You can get some really great sounds and maneuverability.

Yeah there are issues here and there. The expression pedal works fine. But sometimes the unit will not process newer effects I add, and they’ll be j usable.

well nice video... im using NuX MFX10 as for the moment, though it seems lacking of CTL function, but you can set the patch arrangement. left and right. but with the tone i think it does the job. Iregardless of the price, though i need external looper for good loop for solo playing.

Hey Rumblin Man, thanks very much for the video! I just wanted to ask about this pedal regarding what I'm trying to achieve with my recording setup. I'm looking at getting more effects (I have a Marshall 30FX which has 4 effects) and have recently bought a Focusrite Scarlett Solo 3. I want to simply record guitar and e-drums. I have tried using the digital amps through DAWs... personally I prefer actual hardware as there is too much messing around with configurations. To get to my question :)... how would I record using this multi-effects pedal in the most simple way? I was thinking of maybe connecting this to my Scarlett Solo 3 audio interface somehow (via 1/4 jack I assume)? Thanks again, awesome helpful videos (I've liked and subscribed), keep them up :)

Hey bro!! Thanks for your comment. I’m currently using this pedal for recording an album project. The best way to run it is 1/4” stereo left and right straight into your Scarlet interface, and then record it as a stereo track. This gives it the fullest sound and will help a lot if you are using any of the stereo effects. While you can get some good sounds with this pedal, I recommend the Line 6 HX Stomp more if you can afford it. I used to have one. The amp / cab simulator options are endless, and the effects are really good. The ZOOM really is best as a right budget option and isn’t as good as the Stomp.

I mention USB recording, I know you said to run a 1/4 stereo setup for recording so would that be 2 cables, 1 for Left and the other for Right into the Instruments Input on my Scarlett Interface? I prefer the sturdy build and more easy to use G3Xn compared to the G1X Four however due to budget and ease of recording straight from USB to PC (not sure if the sound is better through my Scarlett Interface) I'm considering buying that. It would be awesome to get your thoughts on this if you wouldn't mind. Thanks!

@@andyward7961 it seems to me that neither pedal can be used as a direct interface. If you go up to the G5, however, I think it can be. The G3Xn probably gives you more options than the G1x Four. That said, it all depends on what you’re wanting to do and how many different sounds you want to use. The G3Xn gives you more pedals and more blocks.

I own it. I’m not happy. It is very difficult to program this unit. The preinstalled patches are adjusted with wildly varied output levels. You switch from one where you almost can’t hear it to the next that destroys your eardrums. Be careful.

Jeff Landreth the POD Go is a better product... it’s newer technology with more features. The one advantage the ZOOM has is that it still sounds great for less than half the price.

E. Jordan certainly! The best tip I can give you is to make sure you’re using the clean channel on the Fly. On the Zoom, make sure you’re not using any amps or cabs but only effects, since the Fly is your amp.
