Saw this yesterday. I have tried it. The lag at the moment is horrible. I really am not worried as i think Mixcloud Live will get it perfect. As for the fee. Really not expensive at all considering what we all will be able to do without copyright issues. The artists get paid what more could we ask for. Plus the first 3 months are free if it's not for you, you can opt out....... Thanks Mixcloud i will be supporting you 100%

@@keithlee4963 Yes you can! SoundCloud is limited unless you pay for unlimited services. Even then on SC you need to watch out for some songs that can get your account hit by producers and record lables. This includes remixes, mash ups, bootlegs, radio edits and official songs that you make [extremely rare if you are making songs on your own] San holo spoke about as he made a remix of The Next Episode by Dr Dre 7 Snoop Dogg, he had to take the song down. Even though it was professionally done, I don't think that remix was approved by the OG artists and record lable. He also states that his close supporters as they uploaded the remix on their SC accounts, they got hit and permanently wiped their account.

I figure since it's on beta mode, they are working on a few bugs. I do love the fact that you can go live without your tracks being muted or having your set taken down. The major drawback is your live stream will not be archived. Meaning it will not be saved once your set is done. I hope Mixcloud fix that issue at once for it is major. Mixcloud Live is a work in progress don't you should not expect too much.

@Spoon Clank use (obs) and (hearthis.at) it's free, livestream with picture, free upload lot more than soundcloud, no stress with copyrights and also your music is for download. When you live put just the link to facebook and instagram, etc. Your viewers don't need a account for hearthis.at

Thank you for the information. I used a TRSS or TRRS adapter that went from the RCA jack to the phone which converted the phone headphone into a mic. Sounded great on Facebook live, but using this OBS and Mixcloud it was horrible sounding. Any suggestions on going directly out of the mixer or booth output and converting to a USB into laptop?

Are you still using black hole 16 and your audio on mixcloud as I tried to use it sunday and the audio was horrendous. Through obs black hole 16. Went straight in face book through obs and sound was perfect. Have you had audio troubles on mixcloud??

The issue with this is people want to stream in Facebook because that's where their friends / family and fan base already are. I myself, even as a DJ at home won't go out of my way to find these mixes to listen to live, however, if I come across a live stream on Facebook i'll be more likely listen to it.

Thats our main concern at this time, however it's great to have a back up that won't be taken down unlike facebook!

Or you can use your phone to Go Live on Facebook showing an actual printed sign, with you in the background mixing, telling all your followers to go to your Mixcloud Live page. This way, all your followers get that awesome notification. They will click, see a video with your sign, and then head on over to Mixcloud. Is there a way to turn off the sound broadcasting on your phone so FB doesn't shut you down? Thoughts?

Is it only me that can see the dlaringly obvious solution? Why doesn't facebook do what mixcloud have done? Set up a subscription service within facebook so that its easy to go llive on our own facebook page but the artists still get paid! Facenook would make a killing! I know I'd pay a tenner a month to be able to go live without getting warnings every 5 minutes, and without having to go outside of facebook to do it.

glad i found this video/tutorial. I gave a question though, i am having trouble getting audio on my live streams. Did a test but nothing. Followed all the steps. Now i am using windows, and ddj-400. When i set upa source for audio input capture it DDJ-400 does not show up. Onlt default and microphone. Ami doing something wrong or am i missing something with either my laptop or maybew software? Help please :(

I did various livestreams via KZbin and worked perfectly. Only drawback is that if you save your stream as a video, they block you right away because of copyright infrigement. So save your livestream via OBS and upload it to your own website or elsewhere. So why pay $19 a month?

So run OBS, Restream, Mixcloud and your DJ software of choice all at the same time. Will a laptop be able to handle this?

Your laptop is only running OBS and your DJ software. The stream is taken from OBS to Restream (in the cloud) and restreams servers send the feed to Mixcloud (also in the cloud) which doesn't affect your computer :)

Do you mean how to stream without decks? In this intance get the audio playing from your computer speakers and set up a "Audio Output Capture" in OBS and set up to capture the desktop audio. This should work if you don't have some decks handy :)

I do like Mixcloud live but there is no preview or embedded preview link when you share your stream. It’s just a url link so it’s not going to catch ppl’s attention so I hope they fix this otherwise I won’t be purchasing it it’s not ready yet. I hope the official release adds more preferences to copy/paste as an embedded preview code.

Here’s my question. When we are live can we close Mixcloud webpage or does the page still have to be open on our laptop? If we’re steaming with OBS and we are connected to the server then we can just close the Mixcloud stream page correct?
