Hi, these are standard aluminum profiles. There are special nuts that can be inserted directly into the groove and there is no need to insert them from the side. You just need to know the dimension of the groove.

Hey, that's right! It would still be nice if you could attach existing things to it more easily, for example. For example, I have a Thule ski rack which requires the screw to be mounted with the head at the bottom, as the fixation is at the top. I really like the quality and look of the roof rack, but it would be great if the compatibility could be extended. All the best, Peter

@@notthatkindofachannel I understand it now. Thank you. I understand that it would be easiest to use the original screws from the box. But if you don't want to remove the side, it is possible to use a nut in the profile and a screw without a head with an internal hexagon or torx. It is then possible to use the original nuts for the roof box.
@notthatkindofachannel10 ай бұрын
@dgalad1 Yes, exactly! I just want to make it as easy as possible for the user to continue using existing things without any further effort. This is an advantage for the user and of course for the product itself.

I have the same rack for more than two years. Very good choice, you will be satisfied.

When you mention the rubber needed for the front that was exactly what I thought was missing. My Out-Back rack came with the rubber so it’s a snug fit - seems odd it’s not supplied out of the box. Overall it looks really good 👍🤓😎

Thanks for the presentation. We're considering either the rhino rack or mp4x4 at the moment. By the way, will the new Disco also get a winch? Would love your thoughts on the various options. mp4x4 also offers a winch mounting plate and several winches, maybe they will let you make a video on that? ;D Keep it up! Greetings again from Hamburg, Germany!

Hi Fabian, thank you very much! I've been thinking about a winch myself and also about the MP4x4 mounting plate 😄 Maybe a project for later, when my engine ticking and whistling is over! 😉 All the best, Peter

Hi, I have the HSE with the GPS antenna on the roof by the tailgate, will this rack fit and miss the antenna? Thanks.

Hi Peter, how's the roof rack with wind noises? Is the flap on the front effective? Can you mount lights there? How much has the vehicle height increased?
@notthatkindofachannel8 ай бұрын
To be honest, the wind noise is very quiet, even on the motorway, compared to Frontrunner! But I think that's always a subjective feeling. Nevertheless, I'm very impressed with this thing. The wind deflector works wonderfully even without a lip at the end. I initially wanted to fit one, but as there is no annoying wind noise, I left it as it is. I'll be making another video soon, where I'll go into more detail about the roof rack and its possibilities. Also with regard to various attachments. It has grown in height by 11.5 cm at the rear and by 16 cm at the front, as the roof slopes down or is lower here. Greetings, Peter

Love the jacket you are wearing at the start.. where or what brand is it? Looks warm 👍
@notthatkindofachannel10 ай бұрын
It is a mix of a rain jacket on the outside and a thin fleece on the inside. But it's not very warm, you still need a vest or sweater underneath. 😉

Hi Peter, check out Land Rover Passion for some of your off road gear. They are based in Milan Italy so not too far from you. regards peter

Hey Peter, thanks! I know, they have this cool side window which I always wanted 😄 Not that far is relative as it's still a 7.5 hour drive. But certainly closer than from your home! 😉 Hope you're doing well! Greetings, Peter

Nice video very helpful. Just subbed. I'm thinking of investing in a roof tent so need a good roof rack. Would I be able to attach a roof top tent to this? Thanks in advance. David
@notthatkindofachannel8 ай бұрын
Hey, yes, that should be possible! Of course, it depends on the mounting options for the roof tent and its fastenings. For example, the quick-release fastener for iKamper from Frontrunner could be installed without any problems. The screw size can be M6 or M8 with the sliding nuts. All the best, Peter

LR passion has all those holes on their roof rack.
@notthatkindofachannel10 ай бұрын
You can also fasten things quickly and easily here with hammer or sliding nuts. For me, it would be a great extension if you could also use normal screws. But these are minor details in what is otherwise a pretty unbeatable price/performance ratio. 👍

Why not drill a hole the size of the head of the fastner in to the slot at either end? Then you can slide them in.
@notthatkindofachannel10 ай бұрын
Hey! I think I'll do that and/or buy some hammer nuts to slide into the rails. Best regards, Peter

Most are M8, so a 13mm bolt head size. I don’t know what yours are but there should be lots of M6/8/10 fittings. Mine are M8. I have tie down rings permanently fitted and a pelicase bolted to the rack. Tie down rings are cheap and prevent scratching the rack when using straps.
