Hey guys, you're prob really supposed to do that bunker track from the top down - when you do the whole Te Kopahou track from the top, by the Radome, around and to the bunker, then down to the beach by the track you did. All of the Te Kopahou reserve tracks are a bit harder/more intense. Also, Owhiro Bay is just a beach suburb of Welly :)

@@GeorgeSoan Def do the whole track, it's amazing, esp on a nice day, but also when its foggy/low cloud. There's actually five different tracks in the whole reserve -just one way, it's not a loop -from the top down, not starting at Owhiro bay. There's only one that would be ok starting at the bottom, beside the stream opening right before red rocks - near the bunker track you saw, but slightly further along. It goes up the stream valley for a bit, before climbing up the hill. But you're much better off starting at the top (road to the Radome via the Brooklyn wind turbine) and choosing one of the five, from east to west - either down to the Happy Valley entrance on the eastern side, down to the bottom of the different stream valleys and then back up hte hill in all the middle three, or the bunker track to red rocks on the western side. You get to see the wind turbine, as well as the view from the Radome. One of the best Wellington walks.
