Is this the Best SPD-SX Stand?

Although I like this stand, the second time I used it one of the wingnuts stripped. Luckily, Tama replaced it under warranty. I've had this problem on several Tama stands over the years so I always carry spare parts.

Hey man! It’s been a year since you uploaded this video. I just want to know about the updates for this exact set up for touring? Is it stable enough on riser? Been thinking to get this, as i want to put the SPD as the “Tom 2” but all the reviews i read online that this stand is not good enough. Please Let me know what you think. Cheers Buddy! 🙏🏼

I use it for gigs and it’s solid! In the position your saying you do need the boom extended out it’s got a little bounce when you play it, but it’s about the only stand that lets you get a pad in that position. I’d say it is good enough if you can forgive a little bit of wobble when you play it, depends how hard you’re hitting. Haven’t had it on a riser but imagine it might bounce even more. Hope that helps!

I got the fast clamp too and the stand lets you get the pad in a better position without having to worry about a cymbal stand or anything. I’d say go for it if you’re debating it, hope it works out!
