Dude I bought an 04 Sequoia a month ago. 256k miles for a great price, and the thing rides smooth as ever. I love it.

The Limited has the spoiler, the SR5 does not. Also, if you put your key in the rear hatch and hold it it will roll the window up and down. It's also variable so you can roll it down half way or just a crack. Works in the regular doors too for the other windows. just fyi if you want to cool your car off before you get in.

Not all wheel drive with a center locker only. They are 2wd with AWD and then it's 4x4 with the center locker engaged, on top of that traction control.

That bottle is the radiator overflow bottle. Hot water/fluid from the radiator normally will overflow into that bottle which is normal. As it cools down it is sucked back into the radiator. This bottle is normally empty.

I own both a 2004 ujz100 (236k) and a 2006 sequoia (186k). The Land Cruiser is a tank! However, the radio/navigation systems are a huge downfall! You can upgrade for around $2500 to European/Asian spec but you have to get all the parts from overseas. The frame on the land cruiser is thicker. There are trade off for both. Also, the Land Cruiser is built to last 25 years in a 3rd world country.

Toyota UZ engine in particular is the best gasoline engine ever made. UR (I own both 5.7 in my tundra and ol 4.7 in my sequoia) has in my case been good @175k mile, but any check of the forums reveals its not perfect. cam tower leak, heat exchanger leak, timing chain tensioner rattle, and starter. I havent had any leaks or tensioner issues, but I should note that 3 separate dealers wanted about $2700-3000 to do the starter back in June. (thankfully got it done by someone for $800). Even this, they are the best motor you could buy in the past 10-15 years. The UZ is on another level though. Look up any other engine, including the UR. You'll find that literally every other engine has either initial early production "teething" issues or lacks quality control or is just unreliable. The UZ engine is probably the only engine without any teething or reliability issues or weak spots other than lack of maintenance. In 50 years car people will look back at engines of old and will point to the UZ as the peak. Everything since has been downhill reliability and smoothness wise

I drove a sequoia for an hour once and the seating position is a major reason I have eliminated Toyotas. Granted they have held up well except for rust on the frame. I have a 2005 Yukon Denali with great reliability and excellent seating position which means you can drive it all day without being fatigued

I'm shopping for another big vehicle, that I can have a heads up on. I can't find a disappointment opinion yet..just all the same long life issues (gasket, back handle,traction control circuitry, balls, etc). I'm thoroughly impressed with how inconsequential everyone speaks on these issues...and then keeps driving them! I'm sold🎉

Your frame looks brand new compared to most of what’s in cleveland area. My Silverados frames finally getting to the point of where I don’t want to drive it anymore. Looking into a sequoia as we need the cabin space for the family.
@ErvayAutoReviews2 ай бұрын
I got family up in Cleveland! My frame rails are pretty good but the part where the rear axle connects to the frame is not great. If you're shopping for a 1st gen sequoia, definitely check out where the rear control arm brackets are welded to the frame. They love to rot on these.

I have the same issue with my overflow reservoir in my '05, my guess is that it has a leak and I'm going to replace it. As you're going to shift the vehicle on, I wouldn't sweat it but that radiator looks like it's due for replacement (the top is discolored).

@ErvayAutoReviews3 ай бұрын
The 1st and 2nd sequoias have a full time 4wd like the landcruisers, except the sequoia can go into 2wd and the landcruiser cannot. So driving it in 4wd on paved roads doesn't effect anything except gas mileage. I had it on because it rained the other day and forgot to turn it off.
