Thunder fan here. Slightly is one of my favorite Podcasters and easily my favorite from another team. I fear, but want to see Dallas / OKC in the WCF this season. Both teams are straight up fantastic.

I think a lot of Mavs fans are in denial about how close the series was last year. Yes, we won. It was also like 3 seconds away from going to a Game 7 on their home court. We scored the exact same amount of points across the entire series. And that was when we had a massive size and rebounding advantage over them which they went out and addressed. For the record I still had us winning either way last year but they went out and got better. They’re hungry. They don’t like us. It’s not gonna be easy. We saw them almost entirely shut down Kyrie last year and we just saw them shut down Luka last night. Their best defender wasn’t even playing. You guys can keep plugging your ears going “la la the West runs through us” but they’re a scary team. We went from missing the play in to the Finals in a year. The Nuggets went from a ring and potential dynasty to bowing out in the second round in a year. A lot can change. Just don’t assume based off last year’s results.

The Mavs had complete control of that series last season. The Thunder are a dangerous team for sure. Might be the best regular season team in the West. But come playoff time there is no doubt in my mind that we will beat them again.

@@connor_phillipz5689 That was last season. Young and talented "regular season" teams become playoff teams over time. Luka and the Mavs became playoff ready over time, Kidd a playoff coach. Okc is on the fast track and that #1 defense in the league is not a fluke. They made two key additions to address their roster and just as importantly are a year more experienced. And those two new additions will be stabilizing forces that offer more consistency in the playoffs. The Thunder team heading into the playoffs this post season, if healthy, will be significantly better prepared for the task at hand than they were last season. Dallas is dangerous, too. We all know what they bring and are capable of. Hell the Rockets are looking pesky, too.The West is shaping up tough. But it is a crucial mistake to think Okc a "regular season" team with no doubt of the Mavs beating again. Should they meet at all.

Tbh they hacked a lot against us. But the refs have not been biased (and bias has not been a ref). They did not call on both sides. Dallas just wasnt ready to match this physicallity.

Well, mavs had a better halfcourt offense. Thats why they were still close in the game. Mavericks need to take care of the ball better which can be easy to clean up. Jalen williams is still struggling against mavs for whatever reason but he has been better with a traditional big this season so maybe he fan figure it out this playoffs. Gonna be interesting to see if okc can still keep the steals and turnovers up when mavs get used to it in the playoffs. Then we still got chet to see what hes gonna look like. Gonna be another great series if they meet. By far the 2 best teams on the West
