@@ryiscept Starting out is super difficult in this game, try to find something you like to do and stick with it to get some credits built up. Joining an active squad adds a lot to the game. I started with laser mining Platinum, found it relaxing, this gave me creds to buy and equip ships for each task, that way when I want to do PVE, I just jump in my PVE ship, mining, exploration, AX, just board and go. Odyssey adds a lot to the game, I wouldnt have as many hours without it for sure. I do also spend a lot of time engineering ships, swapping modules to try new builds etc, its like a hobby lol I also mix in exploration when I can, easy to spend a lot of time on this. Looks like they are going to make engineering easier in the next few months, this should help cut the "grind" to improve ships. This is great, as this is one of my main complaints with engineering. o7

They could add so much more than would help keep the game alive for a long time to come. Dedicated freighter ships with 2,000+ tons of cargo capacity. The ability to use 3 NPC-piloted fighters. We have 3 crew member seats, so why can we only use a single NPC-piloted fighter? Ships that are bigger than what we have now, but smaller than a carrier. Price point being around 2 to 3 billion credits. Instanced player housing quarters on stations. Living quarters on medium and large ships. Dedicated fuel tanker ships with massive cargo holds for fuel, multiple scoops, and change scooping to where the various star types give varying quality of fuel. The ability to build an outpost on a planet's surface. Cargo storage at NPC stations. The ability to swap ships without having to offload or sell cargo first. Long story short, those who have been playing this game for years have billions upon billions of credits, with absolutely nothing to spend it on. Give us a reason to.

Look like the devs creating content from the core code just left the team and they're in maintenance mode just adding what they can. I know devs that do astonishing works in a year, those people can't provide content.
@johnterpack39403 ай бұрын
To start, you're the first E:D creator I've subbed to in two years, or since whenever Odyssey dropped. Your content is top shelf and your taste in ships is impeccable. Plus your voice is a proper baritone and devoid of the ubiquitous Brit accent. Stumbling across your channel has been a solid push towards getting back into the game. I'm not sure yet whether to thank you or not. I'm one of those who dropped out around the time of Odyssey. It wasn't because of the bugs, I didn't buy Odyssey. It was because it showed the path Frontier wanted to take with E:D, Fortnight in Space. That wasn't why I bought the game. So I saw no point in hanging around while they turned it into even more of a shoot 'em up than it already was. I am tempted to come back. But the recent, and pending, updates give me cause for concern. If the Thargoids are truly going to go away, that leaves only one outlet for combat, PvP. And I'd say the Type 8 backs up that notion. It's more than a little suspicious that they release the first ever combat-capable freighter just as they announce all these other changes. I'm not the only one who complained about cargo ships being loot pinatas. The T-8 could have come out years ago if it was meant to respond to player desires. More than likely, its release means hauling is going to get even more dangerous now that fighters have nothing else to shoot at. And I suspect the revamp of Powerplay will also be designed to drive this. Maybe it will take Powerplay out of solo mode to try and force more targets, I mean "players", into open. But all that will do is drive more players away. When the majority of your playerbase, the VAST majority, plays in "solo" you should realize that's where your money is. I don't understand why Frontier insists on catering to the minority, essentially throwing money away. I could be wrong. Maybe they have finally figured it out and are revamping the game to reinvigorate the core fanbase. But given the current state of the gaming industry, I doubt it.

Add ship interiors , atmospheric planets , EVA , ship boarding are just a few examples. Hell you don’t even experience G Forces while flying your ships. The physics model is terrible & the space stations have smaller interiors than most ships on SC. The Cobra game engine is a dated fossil. ED is not an MMO. Since it’s based on a peer2peer network system. That’s why you can’t have more than 4 players in a wing. No wings in multi crew. And only one FC per instance.

Still can do MUCH more in Star Citizen. With 5 Titans left to go, the war won't be done before the end of the year.

Yes it's what star citizen should have been by now

So nothing new yet just announcements. I love the game i really do but everything that would bring me back to play it regularly is just announced or it come out halfbaken! Why i don´t play it regularly if i love it so much you ask? My time is limited i have a job and a family and the ridiculous grinds you have to do for a single nice ship build or something else are like another job just to have something nice. And we are talking about single items that take a week to grind up to an acceptable level, i repeat acceptable level not even maxed out. After you do this 2 or 3 times you just burned out and stop for a while. Thats my cycle with this game i keep coming back and the announcements sound great but they really need to change something for us time limited players.

If you're an explorer, don't bother.

Powerplay V2. Arguably the worst aspect of elite and they dedicated most of their time to overhauling it. Good job. Oh aliens? Those cool advanced boss type enemies? Yeah we are removing those soon.

That's probably why they are revamping it to make it better. And Thargoids won't go away completely. It's just the end of Thargoid related content drops

We should be careful not to call it "pay to win." It's also a pretty negative term--an an insult--coined by players, such as myself, who, almost 10 years ago, couldn't understand why nobody could just put in the hundreds of hours to actually get things organically lol. But then you grow up and you're like, "oh! I see! It's for people with real jobs who don't have much time outside of family and work, to do this stuff... I see!" 😂 It's also a means of combating third party boosting services, who can steal your account: There are thousands of people out there that pay these people to take over their account and grind things for them. If people are willing to spend hundreds of dollars doing that? Well? That's a big cha-ching for developers and publishers. Plus, you're not just funding some person in China who may, one day, have a really bad day and use that account for something else, or take it over. If you're a gamer that maybe only has 5 hours a week to dedicate, most weekends, to gaming? You're not really going to see much progress, or even remember where you left off...or what you were last working on. I've jumped back into games, months after the fact, and then just ended up doing some missions, before realizing, I was in the middle of working on something much bigger with my build and that half my perks or something were unassigned, or that certain items were missing for me to effectively play in that state. And so it ends up being a game that falls to the wayside as a result. And it becomes one of those "oh yeah! I remember that game! Yeah I just could never get into it.." But then? Sometime after that discussion, realize, "That's right! I didn't have time." So it's a good way for someone to jump in, I guess and get a broader picture of the game more quickly.

I haven't played Elite for over three years. This is a good game, but the most disgusting thing about it is the ships, or rather their design. When you play Star Citizen, the ships there look like real ones, they are very detailed and it seems that these could exist in real life. In Elite, the ships are made at a very primitive level.
@chrisgroves51755 ай бұрын
Yes you are correct but.... When you fall threw the floor, get shot out into space when using your elevator in your ship. Not to mention the multitude of other bugs and such. takes you out of the game. Also elites ships are designed for inter galactic travel, where most of star citizens are designed for inter planetary trail.

That's the silliest attempt at a comparison I've ever seen as there are no "real spaceships." A purely subjective statement. You want to know what disgusting truly is? A tech demonstrator pretending to be a game at almost half a billion dollars, over a decade in development but still only at an alpha level.

@@chrisgroves5175 Don't you find it odd that someone that claims they haven't played a game in "over three years" is still hanging around watching that game's videos? Talk about out looking in. What? Not enough of that glorious SC content out there? Curiously, I come across more than a few of these so-called ED refugees all up in SC now on ED threads -- that for some odd reason, have to come back to tell us what we're all "missing." Almost like a concerted effort - - almost.

How many other systems are there in Star Citizen again?
