Wow love that hot shoe RX connection
@cameracravings32163 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the preview, as a Sony user I'm interested in these hot shoe connection mics that Sony is making. Bit disappointing that it cut out so bad when line of sight broken at only 50m or so. Also would be good to see a size comparison with the Rode wireless go and other competitors.

Demo audio from the mic while there is bg music? missing the point of the demo, isn't it? how can we tell sound isolation from the bg like that?

The real question is ❓ Can you connect 2 mics to the receiver? For a 2 person interview style
@ellyawesome3 жыл бұрын
That's a great question... I'm not sure if it would be possible. Maybe if you have a splitter so you could connect two but I'm not sure if the tech would allow for that. I'll look into it :)

It’s a nifty mic... but damn, it’s bulky.. and the lav is quite bulky also. Would b nice to have something a bit more discrete. Great video though! Thanks for sharing.

Can someone use two, three or four Sony Transmitters to one receiver? This is the real question no one has answered. Do you know the answer? Thanks in advance.

Hi Elly. Great video. Thx. Quick question. Mine is on a ZV-1. But when recording, it only records from internal mic. Blue lights x2, attached correctly. Odd. Nothing online, and I mean nothing and Sony Canada support, I gave up after three hours trying chat and call backs! Any ideas, much appreciated. Thx

Great Quick Review! Would you call this better than Rode Wireless Go II?
@ellyawesome3 жыл бұрын
Hard to say. This one has especially good compatibility with Sony products, so if you have a Sony camera it may be the best choice. The latest GO mic can record audio files into the device separately which is a feature this doesn't have, also the GO shows audio levels on the device. That would be the biggest differences between the two :)

Question for you? On all the Sony cameras I've tested any microphone sending a signal through the hotshoe turns on AGC (Automatic Gain Control) and can't be turned off. So there's no way to manually control your sound levels and you always end up with some distortion at some point. It doesn't matter whether it's something like the ZV-1 or the A7 series, they all seem to do this. Can you confirm if this is the case on the ECM-W2BT?
@ellyawesome3 жыл бұрын
You are correct, or at least in my experience. I'm trying to get some info from Sony directly for this because I personally struggle with this kind of setup too. It sounds great and I used it for my latest video (fpv dji unboxing) but had to put it on -20db but that sufficed as me 'lowering the input volume'. That option allows me to record audio comfortably at a good volume but as of yet I can't figure out how to adjust the input volume in-camera. What is with that, hey? I've always been confused by it. I thought I was crazy! lol. There must be a way surely?
@radcraig3 жыл бұрын
@@ellyawesome thanks for clarifying that cause that was one of my biggest concerns with this or any other hot shoe unit
@laughingboy-tk6ut3 жыл бұрын
It also seems to me that the receiver still needs to be charged independently - the hotshoe increases its use to 9hrs but i think the receiver still needs to be charged - can you confirm this?
