Sullivans Cove second fills are the best!! Many of my favourite whiskies have been matured long term in refill casks - it really lets the spirit shine! Lovely to hear about these things from folks so knowledgable about single malt maturation.

I love whisk(e)y and I going to events to hearing from people in the industry. But it does always make me giggle a little when the superlatives come out to explain things. How many different enthusiastic ways can you explain grain+yeast+water sleeping in wooden containers. You definitely need the gift of the gab and Miranda has it in spades! Reckon you should get Tassy to shout the whole team a weekend away for an on site video

Fascinating ! I am an Irish and Scotch Whisky loving American and I am very curious to know if Sullivan's Cove is available in the US - I would LOVE to try some - they sound delicious !

They really are! I did ask about the states though and got this reply: Unfortunately, due to the three-tier system of distribution in the United States, we are unable to sell or ship our whisky directly to consumers. Therefore, individuals based in the USA cannot participate in our ballots or make purchases through our website. However, we are actively working on establishing distribution channels and eagerly anticipate finding a solution in the near future. So you might have to visit Australia in the meantime 😜

@@BehindtheBar Thank you so much for the reply. And man I would LOVE to come to Australia ! Almost made it there in 1997 - I was on a sailboat doing a circumnavigation and was supposed to go from Tahiti to Australia but my (ex) wife got pregnant before I left and my 2nd son was born when I was in Fiji and I had to fly home, lol ! Always wanted to get there - maybe one day. I'm getting pretty old, but I still hold out hope ! Love your channel - keep up the great work. All the best from South Carolina, US !

It definitely can be, especially the older expressions - the double cask which is their entry level goes for $250AUD from the distillery but it can get ‘flipped’ for more as it generally sells out. It was definitely a privilege to get to taste through these 😊
