Thank you Brenda 🥰🙏 Gravetye is a truly special location. I had high expectations but it blew them all out of the water. Such a phenomenal place in every regard. The chickens and ducks are so sweet, they’ve made us so happy 🥰 Heidi loves picking all the fresh eggs as well, a daily treat. I’ll get editing the next video, I’ve got so much to share! See you again soon ☺️ Have a wonderful week ahead.

So gorgeous! Loved the garden walk! Now, has anyone responded to your camellia question? I don't want to repeat information and be boring! You already know that they like ericaceous soil, a problem in the South of England thanks to all the chalk, but it sounds as if you have done a lot of soil amendment to get around that. They like dappled shade and a really good tip I've learned is that you must water them regularly and well during the hot months because that is when they set their new growth and bloom for the following year. Of course this year, for you, is pretty cool and moist anyway, but even so the camellias will need an extra boost of food and water in August. Here in British Columbia we are experiencing days in the upper 20s and low 30s, and no rain to speak of, so my camellia and other ever greens like rhodos and azaleas are getting some extra water and love. Cheerio!

The beauty of this place actually made me tear up!This has to be one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen!! And your room!❤ I would never want to leave!! I grow camilla's...mine are planted in shady areas. They get mirning sun and a little evening sun. I use a camilla fertilizer and I water during dry spells. I live in a very hot humid climate and they do very well.

I think you have found " paradise " I could just imagine being a titled Lady a century or two ago, waking up in that glorious bedroom stepping into my warm perfumed bath assisted by my ladies maid , deciding which french silk dress to wear, slowly strolling through the gardens towards the breakfast room where all the delights of a sumptuous breakfast awaited me, ohh I could continue my fantasy but I'm not to blame, it's this amazing place it has put a spell on me, you are so blessed to have experienced such a place.

Always love your videos Stacy they’re so well done and like your name, “slow” so I can admire the architecture and gardens. I also like the background music you choose to accompany your work, hauntingly beautiful. My mom’s side of the family was from Cornwall and I can see my grandmother and her daughters’ flower choices and my grandfather’s veg patch reflected in the gardens of England. ❤ from 🇨🇦 ( my drink of choice when I occasionally have one is a gin and tonic, cheers! )

Thank you so very much Jane 🥰🙏 such a kind comment to read, it’s put a smile on my face. I love that you have family from Cornwall, that’s a wonderful corner of the country. Have you visited? I’ve got an episode to edit from a farmhouse cottage I just stayed in near Port Isaac so Cornwall will be coming up on the channel shortly ☺️ A G&T is one of my favourite drinks of choice too! Hope you’ve had a delightful weekend.

@@theslowtravelsfamily Thanks so much for your replies. 💛 My grandmother always had a portrait of the queen and a yearly calendar with Cornwall pictures in it on the walls of her kitchen. Cornwall does look beautiful, as does all of England, especially through your videos. I look forward to your pictures of Port Isaac. Take care, hope you and your family are having a wonderful summer.

Superb Video Stacy, you have such a good eye and style! My mind boggles at the work, to achieve this state of grace at Gravetree... 'Perfection denied' maybe a truism in this Earthly Realm, but some have almost achieved it. I do not have much of a problem here in West Penwith with Camelia's, they do self seed here. Keep it simple with C.Japonica var's of good vigour, avoiding whites which may well be frosted with you and spoil the blooms. And if yours go yellow before dying you may need to use 'sequestered Iron' fertiliser which is formulated especially for Camelia's that find soil deficiency. Good luck.

I’m speechless! This is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. Thank you Stacy. ❤ I have to add how beautiful your room was with the exception of the television on the wall. I feel it should be stored out of sight in a wardrobe or cabinet of some sort so it doesn’t distract from the gorgeous room. 🙏🏻

The artwork on your room's walls bears a striking resemblance to the work of French artist Claire Basler. Could it have been hers?
@theslowtravelsfamily4 ай бұрын
Yes, that’s her! I had meant to add that in on voiceover and forgot to do so. Her work is marvellous. She did all the paintings on the wall in the restaurant too 😍
