Got mine yesterday. Coming from an XDJ-XZ, overall a fantastic compact controller with high quality parts. If you use VirtualDJ, open format is a breeze. Just map a button/pad for tempo reset and automation will ease the tempo up or down smoothly. The crossfader can even be reprogrammed to pitch if that's your thing. There are endless amounts of pads that can be mapped to whatever you want, so if you don't want to toggle the mode + parameter buttons to switch FXs you can fix them directly to shift + pad 1-8. Same for filter FXs. Perfect for when you need to pack light, want tons of functionality, and demand a pro feel.

I purchased the Mixtour Pro console to do a DJ set this weekend in Ibiza, and I chose it precisely for its portability and functionality in a live session. I was immediately surprised by the quality of the materials, the potentiometers, faders and buttons are really well made and respond quickly. Initially I was a little scared by all the features and submenus that I was afraid of panicking during a performance, but after your video and having played a bit with this machine things came out that I usually don't do with my traditional console a Denon Top 4+. I'll let you know after this weekend's intensive use in Ibiza! I honestly think I have in my hands not only a backup solution to my main console but also a live set console in the most unlikely places that I had never thought of before!

This is really great hardware for iOS devices. One thing to keep in mind, the iPad is also a touchscreen DJ controller. So you get 2 different ways to control the software. Not as useful fpr the Mac, but for iOS devices, amazingly good with loads of access to functionality - especially some of the touchscreen only features. I was a little hesitant because because of the lack jog wheels, but I think for the portability, I can live with the touchscreen jog wheels. I can see using the hardware for the knobs, faders and paddles, but for a lot of the buttons (and jog wheels), I would lean towards using the touchscreen. Best of both worlds!

The last two events, I used the older Mixtour with an IPad/DJay Pro and a wifi hotspot. The 1st was a Silent Disco for an hour. The second was as an augmentation for a Pride Festival that had an Apple Music Pride Playlist to pull from alongside my DDJ-400 and computer with Virtual DJ. In both instances, it worked brilliantly. It's important to have a dedicated wifi hotspot or some way to access music offline: cached or downloaded.

I have one of these along with a full Pioneer CDJ setup. In my opinion it's not a replacement for my main 4 channel setup, but wow - this is seriously fun, well built, sounds good and so portable! I enjoy being able to DJ anywhere and that's what this unit enables with great sound quality from RCAs that allow it to be connected to all systems types - I've even had mine connected to a W-King D10 in the middle of nowhere with everything running off battery power alone - so use cases are pretty much endless. I would highly recommend anyone to try one of these (with an open mind) - like me, you might unexpectedly really quite like it and appreciate the creativity, quality and portability it offers. Enjoy!

This is ALMOST hitting the mark for the exact kind of unit I would want. I would love a unit like this, but with a small standalone screen, a mic input and tempo faders included somewhere (the pitch bend buttons are nice but not enough). I think the shape of this is also odd. I wouldn't mind it being a touch bigger and more landscape, I think you could create an all in one unit that does pretty much everything without feeling cramped and tight for space. I basically would love something like a much more compact stripped down XDJ-RX3 or DDJ-800 with no jog wheels. But a mic input or two would still be nice. And built like a tank. Man that would be my dream controller.

The Mixtour Pro unlocks the features that can also be controlled via the controller, in particular Neural Mix and 4 Deck Mode. Thank you for the walk through. Very thorough! So much packed into a controller the size of a 2 channel mixer. I agree with you it's pricey and definitely an investment into not only the controller but the time to take to learn its functions and into DJ Pro as a software. For me the issue is CDJs have such a tight handle on the standard setup in clubs you need to know how to use them to their fullest extent. Bringing this controller into a club because it's what you play on I think is a little unrealistic. Unless you are Laidback Luke of course! I can see this as being good for mobile DJs and performers doing private parties etc.

A quick followup note - you can get most of this functionality with a far better layout and fewer dual use keys or mode switching by going with a custom or stock layout from Yaeltex, for a similar price (especially if you factor in the iPad cost as an additional gear requirement beyond the laptop). This is almost there but having programmed custom midi for the Xone K2's and Rekordbox, I still prefer that route. The tiny two button combo to switch decks is a deal killer for me. I tried to squeeze 4 decks onto one Xone K2 and it just doesn't work well. Additionally, having tried to work with two "virtual decks" on the Opus Quad, I'm just not sold on that for anything other than keeping some passive pad layers going in the background, accessing them occasionally (and it has 4 faders). This thing doesn't need a Crossfader. Without jog wheels I don't see the point. As a primarily electronic music producer/ DJ, my favorite mixer is the V10 LF, no crossfader. An advantage of the Xone K2 midi mapping approach is the ability to use up to 3 FX at a time, per channel. The visual layout in Rekordbox is better than on the iPad as well. Resonance - does the Filter have a resonance adjustment? The default setting you demonstrated had way too much sweep for my taste. I have been a fan of the Algoriddim platform for super portable mixing on the iPad (bear in mind you have to OWN an iPad too, putting you in a much higher price category for the setup demonstrated here. I have been wanting to map two X2's to the Algoriddim platform for super portable battery powered play. I'm sure NI's new mixers can be mapped as well (not so sure about their screen readouts though... Long story short, I find the inexpensive Xone K2's to be more flexible and I also use them in the studio for mixing and production control. There's no beating the club standard CDJ / A9 or V10 setup for multi-deck work, so when it comes to portable play, I'd rather stay on my primary platform. A final note, I often triage and audition tracks or hot cueing or putting together a set from my laptop using the Xone's (or just the laptop). As a portable setup, I can do this anywhere. Performing from Algoriddim's platform takes you out of the primary DJ software that you should be using to organize and cue your tracks. The on the fly Neural / Stem capability is very cool, for sure. But that can also be mapped (just waiting for Rekordbox to get their stem's as good as Serato or NI!).

The problem is all the functionality is coming from your phone, this device is objectively just a mini controller. They need to style it less like a Behringer DJ controller and add a 6mm headphone port and a digital out. If it is going to be a Pro device it needs to have redundancy and if you don't won't people to think it's a toy drop the Autobots knock off logo.

Just received mine this morning.. First impressions, build quality for a supposedly "Pro" controller, is awful.. creaky plastic body and too light imo, anything more than gentle crossfader movements and the whole unit moves, the lights on the various buttons are extremely hard to see in normal daylight, and hense you have no idea what is active on the pads.. but for me, as mentioned, the build quality is not great. The buttons were all recessed, and i had to click the whole face plate down, looking back on some of laidback lukes videos with this thing, and it seems he's holding the device steady while doing anything substantial on the unit... it feels like a bedroom Dj toy... massive disappointment for the price, definitely not "Pro" considering returning 😢
So it could be run through my Allen and Heath QU 16

Weird Question, but does anyone have the ID of the song that plays in the video's intro?

Ok great, but did they have to go with the homer car design aesthetic for it? It looks like a 5th grader drew a picture of a Kontrol X1 from memory.

could this be mapped to Traktor or Serato?
@NexuJin3 ай бұрын
Traktor definitely. Not sure about Serato. You probably could with Serato Pro, but not with Serato Lite (no midi mapping).

The controller that I bought for not much more money like 6 years ago has so much more functionality it's not even funny. If they sold this thing for $100 I'd still think it's overpriced
@vegandadbod71573 ай бұрын
What controller would that be? Bear in mind that functionality is more software thing than hardware.

@@vegandadbod7157 Numark NV II, it has jog wheels (obviously), 4 channels, pitch faders (obviously), 16 pads (obviously), effect controls and 2 built in screens which are very practical

Why is it hate when someone speaks their mind. That’s called opinions suggestions and if there were none then improvements would never be made on any device
