@@koli0842 Because its more powerful then a V6, whilst not being much bigger. The car after all has no batteries, and such relies a lot more on the ICE after the supercapacitors ran out of juice. But the main reason is the roaring yet soothing sound of a V8. Its about the fun after all

I love driving this thing, so much fun hotlapping when you get the hang of it. There's a mod called airport Piestany that is mental in a high downforce car and suits this to a tee.

An interesting mod, but no way F1 will go this direction in the near future: they are trying to achieve carbon neutral, so V8 is not an option; all wheel drive is also impossible, it’ll add too much weight; the windshield is also too fragile when put against the current halo system (made of titanium). Also, even if we ignore all of those, and try building it in real life, it’ll probably end up more like an LMP1/hypercar than F1.

They tested a military grade canopy a while back that showed very promising results. In any case, having a halo-type structure underneath the canopy could help

well I think it actually is possible, all F1 needs is a sustainable fuel that doesn't burn CO2, Sebastian Vettel did it with the 1992 Williams car he drove at Silverstone this year, he literally tuned the engine to be able to use it, F1 is looking to have one by 2026 and they are keeping the same engines that burn CO2 now in 2026.

I’ve got one for you to try, I know you have the car tuner, well I kind of made a monster Porsche 917/30 engine in a 919 hybrid, extend the gears to the max and you can hit 280mph on the mulsane at the limiter and still it wants to accelerate Put that round the ring and you’ll equal if not best this!

This has almost every thing I thought of as improvements for an F1 car to make it safer... the only thing missing is wheel arches to prevent direct wheel to wheel contact launching cars into the air... I'm glad I'm not alone in those thoughts.

Hey Jimmy! There is a MOD of Nurburgring that change the asphalt for dirt! Really good for trying rally cars around, and the circuit changes a lot in dirt! Very difficult.

My only issues with this concept are: it needs to have a flat-plane crank and needs to rev to at least the limit of the current V6 cars. Other than that, I think this is a really good idea.

With a fully enclosed cockpit I can imagine the drivers suffering from heat stroke on hot tracks unless there's some way to vent air into the dtiver Of course I should have expected the replies of how other REAL race cars port the air into the driver ignoring the fact it doesn't exist in this model Jimmy is driving. I am well aware how it's done in real cars.

I’ve always wondered if these style cars would be quite a bit heavier due to needing an A/C System and a De-Fog Setting IRL. These cockpits have to be 25*C or more and in a racing suit with no wind? Yea I’m okay.

Why would they need those things? NASCAR and other closed cockpits don't have any cooling systems either. Airflow can do a lot of work.

Rarely any current cockpit is that cool in warm/hot day. NASCAR sometimes can reach over 35C for 3-4 hrs straight (2x more than F1 races). Drivers have big bottle of liquid buuut it still can be bloody hot in there. FIA could mandate minimal size of vents (in front and some side-grill? (as long as it doesn't damage structure) but having more Indy-car like cockpit-Halo combo would make more sense for open-wheelers.

Sadly the chances of F1 cars going closed cockpit (which would actually give the cars much more downforce and less drag than they currently do) are basically zero. This is due to safety concerns in cases of crashes, like the drivers getting injured more due to being closed in and the harder access to the drivers the medics would have in a crash due to being closed in.
