The more automatic art tools appear, the more purist I become. I love pure photography, with the artwork of an artist and not an application.

I heard about a colleague who takes good landscape photos. He doesn't even leave the apartment and he doesn't have a camera. He cuts and edits other people's photos. I wouldn't have any problem with this and photoshopped images if they were given a separate category and name. The name photography should be applied to minimally edited images that affect the entire image. As per the criteria of major photo art competitions. (Sorry for the bad English)

I understand that Imagen AI is an interesting service, but I prefer using Adobe Camera RAW with Photoshop as it gives me more control over the processing of my images. While Imagen AI can help with the initial processing, as a sports and event photographer, I require more discrete editing to tell the story through my final images. This requires personal experience, skill, and talent, which Imagen AI cannot replace. However, I can see how Imagen AI would be helpful for beginners and hobbyists who have limited time for basic corrective editing. Ultimately, the key to great photography lies in the person behind the camera - their composition and exposure choices, their willingness to break the rules, and to edit manually.

Let's call everything AI from now on.

I'd love to see a comparison the results of Imagen AI to the default Auto Settings in Lightroom. I believe Imagen AI is better, but how much better it is?

This is complicated, and how do you do it on an iPad? I don’t think AI is there yet.

I don't love that this is processed in the cloud instead of in my own machine. How do I know that they're protecting my intellectual property or pictures of my kids?

The data is being compiled in order to improve system performance.

It looks promising, I wonder how it compares to using Lightroom's built in "auto" or mass applying your own cookie cutter presets to a group of photos? I would like the AI to do things with masking layers and apply those level of edits.

"Pay as you go" rate looks attractive for new users just trying out the service.

I don’t know if I should be excited, or terrified for the coming of AI 😂

IMHO essentially a nice idea to train an AI algorithm to adjust the Lightroom swirches and have a bit of control using presets. However, since you still have to edit manually, and I think you always have to and know how, the tool is maybe a bit unnesesssry isn't it?

Let AI loose on your catalogue and then what happens when you decide to enter an image in a competition? It gets pinged for having AI edits. May as well let AI go out and take the photo as well!

Hopefully not. No.

Ugh. Definitely nothing I’d ever care to use, taking everything that’s anti-creative about presets and geometrically doubling-down on it. For those who feel otherwise, have at it.
